The most memorable experience has to be an A340-300, fully loaded for a 12 hour flight from Santiago to Wellington. That thing took forever to get off the ground
The original A340s seemed to be underpowered, as they took much longer to get to their cruising height. When they regularly flew from Heathrow over my house, they always were a fair bit lower than other planes, including the A330s, which were the same plane but with two engines. Wags would say that they used the curvature of the earth to gain height. The 500 and 600 series had a better rate of climb.

As for planes on which I've flown; Vickers Viscount (nice big windows!), Boeing 727, Douglas DC-9, Airbus A320. The last time I went in an aeroplane was in 1991.

Did this make the a340’s sound louder as they took more distance to take off. Although I know older planes in general were apparently louder.

The Mercure must be the rarest type I've been on, back in 1990, when I bought a France airpass. Some long gone planes on that trip, including the F28, A300B2, A320-100 (the first type), and the Mercure.

Not many mentions of Boeing 707s, I was lucky enough to do two Gatwick - Paphos return trips with Cyprus Airways in the late 1980s, also did a return to Italy in the 1960s, I was only 10 so I'm not sure but it was either by Societa Aerea Mediterranea DC3 or DC6, luxury of the lot was an early 2000s transfer from Malta to Gozo by Mil Mi8 helicopter
If you were a Brit and missed the era of scheduled 707s British Airtours had some hand me downs they flew as late as the early 1980s (me, Gatwick to Tangier). My first flight, BEA Rapide from the Scillies. Now 1,100 flights and sixty years later my last flight a Avianca A320 from Bogota to Medellin. Next week, Copa 738 Medellin to Panama, KLM 78-10 Panama to Amsterdam, KLM E190 Amsterdam to London City.

Buen viaje!

The Mercure must be the rarest type I've been on,
I'd forgotten my one and only flight on a Mercure - Paris to Strasbourg on business, circa 1994

I’m not sure of ‘sub classes’, but I have been on:

727
737
747 (including an SP version :))
757
767
777

319
320
321
330 incl 900neo
340
350
380

Embraer 190

BAe 146

DC10 (possibly a Tristar, Gatwick to Ibiza, sat in the next row to Carl Cox and his carry on was about 200 12”)

Various props, including a few Dash-8s, but also some much smaller that I have no idea.

Biggest regret* is not pushing the boat out and going Concorde to NY.

*Probably of my whole life.

I don’t keep accurate logs, I’ve done all the mainstream aircraft around since the 90’s with my favourites being 747’s, the A380, A330-900 and A321XLR.

In terms of more interesting stuff I’ve personally flown Grob Tutor (including doing Aerobatics), Grob Vigilant and then riden in a Piper Commanche and Britten-Norman Islander.
