No reports of any changes to it yet, but I'm going to assume so.I would assume 236 has had the same treatment?

No worries thank you, do you think it’ll go to Newport Docks for scrap? No reports of any changes to it yet, but I'm going to assume so.
Assuming so, since it's being taken apart it'll probably be dragged by a locomotive instead of going alone. It'll probably continue being taken apart for now though, then the rest will go to Docks. No worries thank you, do you think it’ll go to Newport Docks for scrap?
A friend passed Landore and said it had had the lights stripped as well.No reports of any changes to it yet, but I'm going to assume so.
Probably by road as they are heavily stripping it, may not be fit to travel by rail.Assuming so, since it's being taken apart it'll probably be dragged by a locomotive instead of going alone. It'll probably continue being taken apart for now though, then the rest will go to Docks.
Apparent reports of 150281's lights being ripped out at Landore, meaning that it's now being taken for parts and is soon to head for scrap, that's for sure.
Haven't got any photo evidence but I wouldn't be surprised by this news.

Ah so it was 236, my mistake! Brilliant photos thoughHeadlights?. 281 is still intact. The lights from 236 have been removed from the 57 car, but remain on the 52 car. Pics hot of the press!.

Fair enough, if it is really heavily stripped then most likely option.Probably by road as they are heavily stripping it, may not be fit to travel by rail.
The two 150s are quite close to the running lines but obscured by buddleia. The unit closest to Cardiff has had the headlights taken out.Apparent reports of 150281's lights being ripped out at Landore, meaning that it's now being taken for parts and is soon to head for scrap, that's for sure.

Its most likely the 158 will be the last to depart from tfw as we've been told the class 197 with ETCS are the last of the batch to enter service so the 158 will remain until then for the Cambrain lineTFWs 158s will likely be leaving before the 150s
I’m told, that the 158’s have to be gone by December 2025. Testing runs and 197 training looks set to begin September 2024 so should be all ok.Its most likely the 158 will be the last to depart from tfw as we've been told the class 197 with ETCS are the last of the batch to enter service so the 158 will remain until then for the Cambrain line
Already mentioned in post 878, 227 hasn't been in service since if I'm not mistaken.150227 visible at Canton today with branding removed. 282 is next to it, but retains branding.
Now many are left now that some have done off lease?Already mentioned in post 878, 227 hasn't been in service since if I'm not mistaken.
I had a chat to some people a month ago saying that 227 was predicted to be next to go, I think it'll head off to Landore this week, just my guess!
4 out of service, 2 Craven Arms and 2 withdrawn (281, 236)Now many are left now that some have done off lease?
227 is dead too. So 31 left. 237 next to go in a few weeks.4 out of service, 2 Craven Arms and 2 withdrawn (281, 236)
36 originally so should be 32 left in service unless I've missed out on some.
Sad times.227 is dead too. So 31 left. 237 next to go in a few weeks.
Oops! How did I forget 227 when it has been discussed here so much recently! So that makes it 31 left, 30 soon.227 is dead too. So 31 left. 237 next to go in a few weeks.
I think it is a matter of opinion. Whilst they could still have life ahead if you spent a lot of cash on them, the TfW 150 fleet was always going to be toast whe nthew 197s were ordered.Sad times.
I think it was more ValleyLines electrification that signalled the end for the ATW/TfW 150s. Without electrification and with the Pacers gone, I expect the Valleys network (including Vale Of Glamorgan) plus Ebbw Vale, Maesteg, Swanline and Cardiff-Cheltenham could have accounted for all of the Welsh 150 fleet, and the 197s (when ordered) weren't planned to cover many of those services.the TfW 150 fleet was always going to be toast whe nthew 197s were ordered.
Who is 'they'?they should send them to Northern to make into 3 car sets instead of scrap at newport
The trains are in awful condition and have already been deemed as not up for sale by Porterbrook and are headed straight to the scrap yard following their pulling from servicethey should send them to Northern to make into 3 car sets instead of scrap at newport
I would have thought that Northern would be more interested in some of TfW’s 158s when available than some very rusty 150s.TfW sprinters are in a much worse condition overall that GWR sprinters. Not sure how they compare to Northern examples. I'd imagine it's quite similar. GWR probably don't want them
Potentially but the TfW 158s aren't going to be available anytime soon as 197 Cambrian introduction is constantly being delayedI would have thought that Northern would be more interested in some of TfW’s 158s when available than some very rusty 150s.
My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't think they'd go straight for scrapPotentially but the TfW 158s aren't going to be available anytime soon as 197 Cambrian introduction is constantly being delayed
Have heard from someone that’s been involved in the 197 project and it’s been said the 158’s have to go by December 2025.Potentially but the TfW 158s aren't going to be available anytime soon as 197 Cambrian introduction is constantly being delayed
