Surprised they haven't got the Ex Manchester vehicles ready for service yet to be honest unless there isn't a rush for them yet. Is there more E400mmcs due to leave the fleet once they do enter service?

I don't think they're going to be replacing E400MMCs (From my knowledge).

Was on 37187 yesterday on the 60A from Parkhead to the City Centre.

I noticed that the bus had one of it’s side panels replaced by one from probably one of the already withdrawn B9TLs, as it was in Urban paint work, rather than Olympian like the rest of the bus. I did say to the driver "It’s a nice bus, I bet it’s due for a re-paint soon."

They were brought up early because of the Manchester franchise loss. There are changes at the end of June which will need, at least, some of them.

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole with these new timetables since the 61 is local to me…

Is there any human involvement in the production of these AI timetables, or is the whole thing just spat out as the finished product? Just wondering because the new 61 evening timetable manages to break the co-ordination with the 240 that has given 4 evenly spaced buses an hour from the City through Parkhead and Tollcross – not quite every 15 minutes, but nearly – for as long as I can remember. After about 9pm the buses run through the town within minutes of each other with 25 minute gaps – at least one journey runs on top of a 240.

I think using AI to get more realistic running times is a brilliant idea, but *someone* should be intervening to check that the finished timetables make sense. My godmother lives in Newton Mearns and has to try and get her head around a 33-36 minute frequency on the 38. I’m alright, I use the app, but with paper timetables now history, First seem to be doing their best to drive away their core punters.

I usually use the first 9 journey every day, alighting at Buchanan, the fact it will now finish on Hope Street is a bit of a kick in the teeth.

There has always been a early morning 9 that finishes on Hope Street, AFAIK.

Does anyone know what the change in route is for the 7/7A?

Just looking at the 43 timetable and it appears to also have a route change. From the new timetable it appears that it now starts from Glasgow Fort then on to Easterhouse shopping centre and then the current route.

Personally I am not a fan of services begining at the Fort as the bus station there is horrible.

Considering that the 41 doesn’t go into the fort from Edinburgh Rd it does make sense somewhat to put the 43 into the Fort.

Personally I’ve always thought it’d be more wise to put the 41 all the way to Glasgow Fort via Edinburgh rd/swinton/westerhouse rd/the loch and terminating at Glasgow Fort.

Of course that leaves issues with serving much of Edinburgh rd to the royal infirmary.

The 60/60A operating circular in opposite directions around Aberdalgie Rd/Lochend Rd.

The 90 removed between Braehead and QUEH breaks a useful link between the southside and Braehead.

Can change at QEUH plenty of buses to Braehead from there no great loss

No great loss? Just the southside cut off from a major shopping area!

Changing is a pain and it's another fare and interchanging at the QUEH is a waste of time - you may as well interchange in town.

Another fare, just buy an all day or buy a tripper ticket problem solved, people just love to moan.

It seems Glasgow has lost some of its B9Tls to Aberdeen with 37223, 37539 and 33748 which had been on loan reviving first Aberdeen legal lettering.

Put it this way be grateful that most journeys that are not direct in Glasgow only require the 1 change to go anywhere within the network in the main. It's either that or have buses going round the houses and serving every nook and cranny which then people will complain that they take too long and then they tend to be more unreliable as a result which people will then complain about. So what would you rather have?

You've got a point there.

They will probably get their Glasgow branding back soon.
They are only just a cover until Aberdeen gets the rest of their Ex-Manchester E400s and as soon as the Hydrogen pumps being fixed too for the Hydrogen Streetdecks.

They are permanent as no other E400s are now coming. They replaced the 2 withdrawn Citaros and the last E500s, as 33703 has never been fitted with a hopper or repainted yet.

So much for them wanting to standardise the diesel fleet
