The cooperative livery has now reached the Enviro 300s, with the first one to be repainted is 67856 (SN13EEX). The photo in the link below is not mine, but I’m only using the website below for the source as the original source is from this private Facebook group that requires access to see it.

I saw it out earlier on the 1C. Looks nice.
Also, is that 37238 next to it in the photo?
Not yet, did see them be lined up for service in the Crown Street yard earlier when I was passing Caledonia depot on the 21.
37460 was sticking out, probably waiting to go for a re-paint maybe.

This may seem like a bit of a random question but what lengths are the 68 plate Enviro400MMC's and what gearbox do they have, i assume they have Voiths but unsure wether they are 10.3m examples or 10.9m,
Plus is there any difference between them and the 66 plate examples that are in the fleet and am i right in thinking these where ex First Scotland east vehicles that where at Livingston.

I can confirm that 33431-33449 were new to First Scotland East Livingston depot branded for the 27 and 28 at the time. The ones that aren’t with Glasgow now are with McGill’s Scotland East Midland Bluebird and one is with Bright Bus at Livingston depot.
These have wooden style vinyl flooring. That’s the only thing I noticed that was different to the other E400MMCs. The engine sounds the same to me. I could be wrong.

The idle sound on the 66 plates is a mix between E400 Classic idle (Pitch) and Standard E400MMC idle (Actual engine) so I don't actually know what difference there is apart from floors and idle sounds.

There are a number of differences. The 65 and 66 plates are full height (14ft 2) whereas the 68 plates onwards are low height (13ft 10), all are 11.3M long with the exception of the examples new for the 77 and the 72 plate 33402 which are 11.9M long.
As for the difference in sound, Cummins revised the ISB series engines in 2017 to produce more torque at lower RPMs, as such the later E400MMCs are a lot quicker off the mark than the earlier ones which can be quite sluggish initially.
The 65 plate E400MMCs have hydraulic power steering whereas the 68 plates onwards have electric power steering, the latter being seen by drivers as inferior as it makes the vehicle feel less connected to the road. I'm not entirely sure which system the 66 plates will have as they were built around the time they changed to electric power steering.

Probably a rather obvious point but the 65 and 66 plate buses have orange external LED displays (unless there are any that have been replaced with white but I don't think I've seen any) whereas the 68 plate examples and the 72 plate example have white ones.

The orange are really hard to see now and is especially dim on some examples. The white looks visually better and suits the current livery. Not sure why but it just works.

Probably parked at the side of the road broken down again…
37187 is in a state right now, it’s got unpainted replacement panel parts across the bodywork, it’s also still in Olympia livery too, so it could really use a repaint. Shocked it hasn’t had one yet, and is still out in service looking very shabby.

No. Considering they've just received B9TLs from Manchester that have been repainted into the corporate livery, it's obviously not a priority. If it's not broke don't fix it.

I take it there is still no sign if new bus orders fir First Bus in Scotland given that the latest round if bus grants from the Scott Givernment makes no mention of investment by First Group. First Glasgow in previous years has done very well out of this but is all we can look forward this year snd perhaps next is cascades from England as was the case a few years ago?

I thought we’d have heard about a replacement for the B9TLs by now. Given they range from 2007-2009 I’d assumed it would be a gradual thing over a few years.
With Blantyre going electric hopefully we hear soon about some new buses. It would be interesting to see some variety in the shape of Yutong deckers/singles but I imagine more E200EVs/E400EVs.

I can’t see Blantyre gaining any EV deckers.. Due to the length and hills involved the likes of the 18 will stay diesel for sometime yet.. Most likely Caledonia or Scotstoun for new EV deckers..
Blantyre could gain EV singles and likes of Yutongs or Volvo BZLs may suit routes such as 201,255,263,267.. However I reckon First will continue down the road of E200 EVs (not BYD models, instead the lighter model)
Overtown would be perfect to go fully EV soon, but it could end up last depot with chargepoints..

The bids in ScotZEB2 were based on "consortium" based bids. I.E. Multiple operators but with one financier or perhaps battery supplier as Zenobe seem to be involved in the successful bids.
Perhaps First were part of the unsuccessful consortia.
