Simultaneously on this very page the Co-Op are advertising for warehouse operatives in Avonmouth (Bristol) and LGV drivers in Biggleswade. To be fair, the former is quite well targeted geographically as there's a staff bus from here (Newport) to their Avonmouth warehouse.

Adverts on YT for Duracell batteries when the forums I usually frequent brand them "Leakycells", also the fact that they always compare themselves to zinc-chloride batteries as if they compared themselves to other alkaline batteries the tests wouldn't come out so positive for them!

Not so much badly targeted as badly composed. I think the person who wrote the ad text didn't speak to the person who chose the image to go with it:

Either that or my idea of 'Elderly Women' is considerably different to theirs!

The worst thing about some of the adverts appearing on this site is when Mrs H looks over my shoulder and says “I thought you were looking at railway websites!” Hardly surprising when she sees this!

I’ve just had an ad on this forum for a Private Jet company.

the readership here are hardly likely to be the target demographic!

The really odd thing is that the company concerned was set up by a good friend of mine. (He sold it a few years back).

It's Temu again. I've counted this as 'inappropriate' as just about anyone everyone who visits this Forum would give the middle item a wide berth. I'm sure Johnson's efforts would be an improvement. (It wasn't on the Forum.)

(Bottom item - just the one?

Thanks, I missed that.
Probably means it's a cheap knock off of a model bus with "Bus to the future" messaging on it?!
Even that is pretty awful, I don't remember that shade of green being used in any of the London Country incarnations (and that includes the faded RMLs we had in the late '70s). At least Temu have used red!

Anyone buying either is being robbed.

I suppose they might sell in Papua-New Guinea or Patagonia but otherwise I thought London buses = red was known generally.

Other more traditional colours are seemingly available...

P.S. Where does the 38 bus route operate to/from?

One of the most bizarre "features" is that the wheels seem to be from an entirely different model, maybe of a racing car? Mind you, the graphics are completely bogus as well.

Is is Clapton Pond to Victoria coach station.
IIRC a few years ago, the 38 was the route that needed the highest number of buses in service of any route in London (and presumably therefore in Britain). Something like 68 buses were required for the peak hour service on that route alone.

That is better, might sell. Interesting - the 'S' seems to be in a slightly larger font size than the rest of the text; and there is some writing above 'London Transport', difficult to read, 'Fashion Life' - I guess a pretend ad?

Had wondered whether someone had realised that 'BUE' was a mistake and then done a bit of clunky photoshopping?! :s

Now I look at it the 'S' doesn't seem to be at the slight angle the other letters are at.

(It would be particularly badly targetted on this Forum - if anyone knows about detail for transport subjects, it would be members here.)

Making a change from Temu adverts, and not really worst-targetted, but this one is appearing everywhere on the site for me tonight.
Is it actually genuine or spam?

I think I'd prefer to switch to free alcohol
Reminds me of the story where a Welsh supermarket once mixed up the sign and accidentally put “free alcohol” instead of “alcohol free”

Before you empty your car boot in preparation - yes, the offer of free booze at a Torfaen supermarket really is too good to be true.
A sign in Cwmbran's Asda for the alcohol-free section was incorrectly translated to "free alcohol" in Welsh.
Guto Aaron, who spotted the sign, wrote on Twitter: "Get yourself to Asda, according to their dodgy Welsh translations they are giving away free alcohol."
Asda said it was changing the sign.
The sign - which should read di-alcohol - in fact says alcohol am ddim, which means free alcohol.

Anyone fancy a trip to Cwmbran?
