This article from The
Covid Bedwetter Daily Mail smacks of desperation by the pro lockdown brigade.
The idea that we should keep the current lockdown for
at least another two months and not reopen schools on March 8th is just ludicrous.
People's mental health, the economy, and the welfare of school pupils, cannot wait that long.
Whilst the NHS may be under pressure, the numbers in hospital are definitely falling, and more importantly are projected to fall significantly in the coming weeks.
And it is misrepresenting the truth to say that "..
hopes that families will be reunited at Easter have suffered a major blow as government scientists demanded a cautious route out of lockdown.."
This implies that a decision not to ease the lockdown at Easter has already been taken, which is complete and utter codswallop.
It also says "...
government scientists demanded a cautious route out of lockdown" when it really means "..
some pro lockdown government scientists demanded a cautious route out of lockdown.."
Personally I think that schools will reopen on March 8th, shops and leisure centres around Easter, and pubs towards the end of April/ beginning of May. There may be some restrictions on these places as they reopen, but I would expect that all restrictions are removed by the summer, when levels of vaccination are such that we have reached herd immunity.
Hopes that families will be reunited at Easter suffered a blow last night after advisers urged the Prime Minister to keep the brakes on for at least another two months and demanded a cautious route.
