Is this list of ticket machines which have appeared in the bustimes.org live tracking data and the vehicles they're thought to be in any use to you?Hi Guys Happy new year to everyone ---- Does any one have a up to date of Fleet List, the list I got is now very DATED
Hope someone can help. Rhodri
Presumably this is only until the T6 returns to a more frequent service when the current situation eases? Or will the T9 metrocity buses replace the T6 ones?Fleet update.
Confirmed today that all of the man's based at Swansea depot are due to be replaced by mcv evolution bodied dafs from our taffs well depot including yj65 gkv these in turn have been replaced by the former T6 branded optare metrocitys.
Fir this coming week between 0800 and 170p the 404 service will be diverted between pontypridd railway station and Beddau Square following the former 244 route which a few drivers seem to think we should be going full time
Will these return to the T9 when it returns or will additional vehicles be acquiredAll the T6 buses have been replaced by the newer meteocitys originally purchased for the T9 service

Probably additional vehicles
But a service would still need to be provided somehow.Additional vehicles to what was used before the pandemic? With the amount of flights that were using the airport before covid?
Are you for real?
Possibly, but it doesn't need to be a specially liveried fleet of Optare Tempos, when 1/2 buses is all that would be wanted for the many flights that serve the Airport. I could be unkind and suggest a 16 seater Ford Transit would be sufficient. But a service would still need to be provided somehow.

Excuse me!Additional vehicles to what was used before the pandemic? With the amount of flights that were using the airport before covid?

If there's a low number of flights, a 28/29 seater short Enviro 200 would be quite adequate for loadings. NAT have a lot of those in the fleet, though they're not TC liveried.Excuse me!
i meant additional vehicles brought in to cover the T9 service because the tempos went back to welsh government and the metrocitys for the t9 are now being used on the T6 service.
The older metrocitys displaced on from the T6 service are now being put on the 404 Pontypridd to Bridgend service and some are going to Cardiff depot to cover routes there.
YY15FZF could easily be rebranded TrawsCymru if neededIf there's a low number of flights, a 28/29 seater short Enviro 200 would be quite adequate for loadings. NAT have a lot of those in the fleet, though they're not TC liveried.
But won't the Welsh government want to keep the service under TrawsCymru?Possibly, but it doesn't need to be a specially liveried fleet of Optare Tempos, when 1/2 buses is all that would be wanted for the many flights that serve the Airport. Somewhere like Bournemouth, which has a lot of flights coming in and out only justified one bus working the route on an hourly/70 minute intervals meeting most of the flights across daytime hours. And in that case, a Streetlite max downseated to 41 was quite sufficient for the loadings. In addition to the airport there is a large business park with all day traffic which underpinned the business case. Not sure Cardiff Wales Airport has that alongside it.
Oh then I agree with youOf course, I was referring to his alleged enhancement of a pre-covid service when it returns.
Maybe they will, up to them as the tenderer what service they want to pay for. Whether people use it, that's another thing entirely! But won't the Welsh government want to keep the service under TrawsCymru?
Not sure if has been reported elsewhere (could not find any posts) but service 404 Pontypridd to Bridgend is being extended to Porthcawl from 7th June, with the service being branded Valleys-to-Beach. I hope the service is successful as it restores a through link which vanished around 1993/4ish.
Believe they did, but I would not consider that a regular service.Didn't Veolia attempt a Pontypridd (starting in Ynysybwl?) to Porthcawl service one summer? Possibly 2010?.
Think there was two journeys one direction in the morning and two return in the afternoon with the buses and drivers staying in Porthcawl. If I remember rightly a variety of deckers were used.
Well done to you - good to raise the profile of this service as the X2 is running to a limited timetable at the moment. Thought it might be going via Nottage Forge as there is 10 minutes in the timetable to Porthcawl between Griffin Park and John Street, compared with only 2 minutes the other way. Thing is, will passengers use the service from Nottage Forge to Bridgend with a 10 minute sleep at John Street? I do hope so. It's about time we had some competition in the Bridgend area. Competition is good in my eyes.Yes I put the timetables up at bus stops along the route yesterday and was handing out leaflets around Porthcawl in the afternoon.
The timetable is the same except the 0750 Bridgend to Pontypridd has bern withdrawn as the bus goes to Porthcawl now, and the last bus to Pontypridd from Porthcawl is at 1825 and from Bridgend at 1850.

Special fares introduced on it including Porthcawl town single fares of £1 between Porthcawl and Newton and Happy Valley. Services go to Nottage forger after Griffin Park before following south road down to John street.

Also I forgot to mention we have a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter from Ilesbus here for the next 3 weeks on the G1 fflecsi service.
I've got to say from my shift driving it today, it's far superior to the Sprinters introduced by Stagecoach.
I've uploaded photos onto the Adventure Travel enthusiasts group on Facebook.
The dedicated vehicles are Metrocities previously used on the TrawsCymru Brecon - Swansea service and if I remember correct they have USB points.I shall use the service from Bridgend whenever I go to see my old man in Porthcawl! Good to see competition and you are cheaper than First Cymru AND Stagecoach! Have you got USB ports then? First are useless here and Stagecoach depends on the bus!
