Annoyingly the only one that's been truly unreliable is the CityLink branded one, the others, the ones used on hires are proving very reliable.

There is other service work in the pipeline for LMC which if it goes ahead, we'll see some new traction on the 913 too.

It wont be any of the Panthers, though.

I’m quite surprised it’s being cut back even further now, I thought Lochend was fine as a Terminus!

The 33 change now makes sense, it’s cut back to Sherrifhall and replaced by this 48 which you can change over, the N43 is a pleasant surprise!

I’m guessing the 21 will get a revised timetable and the X33 will be extended to Newtongrange, the 400 maybe getting even later journeys.

I hope there’s more to come, other services like the 2,27,36,45,63 and 300 could benefit from some changes. Like the 300 extending to the Royal, 63 extending to Balerno etc

Think we’ll get some EastCoast news soon?

Makes a nice welcome change for something new NOT to be Skylink, East Coast Buses or Lothian Country! They’ve already taken 39, 40’s don’t see why they should get anything else!

Doesn’t make much difference the X15 being withdrawn tbh... when you look at the timetable there’s only a handful of stops it doesn’t serve!

Just to check. These changes don't mean that the 43 is moving to the Lothian brand do they?

In a way the 43 always was just a regular Lothian service just painted green with the city west zone incorporated. especially since it runs out of Central and not Deans. and the N43 will be no different just with the same fare structure for the N28 for its CityWest Zone :D

Again I remain optimistic but curious since we haven’t had a proper network change in almost a whole year!

Plus where else could East Coast store more buses? I haven’t been to any of the open days so I can’t comment on their garage size! and it’s not like there’s anything else in East Lothian to concocr unless they went after Eve and Prentice! again if East Coast got the rights to run the 120 it would be perfect! but it’s just a case of work with what you got just now!

So let me cross my fingers and hope they extend the 140 down to Leith!!

And the X15 being withdrawn will no doubt cause some “controversy” heck when news gets out officially about the 33 being split I can imagine the Facebook comment section going angry!

But why every part of the 33 route has a direct bus to Edinburgh by other routes... 3 29 49. Why would u waste your time on 33?

I guess it depends on where in Edinburgh your going, the plus side to this split is the 48 will still cover the Gorebridge to Royal Infirmary section! and the 33 will still remain strong in the west of Edinburgh! I’m just wondering what garage will run the 48

I don’t know how you.l copy and paste variations on your phone but some have popped up for the

25,36,38,45,300 etc

36 still says craiglockhart but I remember we discussed that last year and it still ran to the gyle

300 still says Cameron toll, don’t know if it’s like the 36 but would be a heavy missed opportunity to extend it down the road

25,38 and 45 are all the same

Marine will run the 48 I reckon.
With the shortened 33, I'm surprised they haven't lumped the Dalkeith Height 3's onto the route, even just hourly during the off peak with peak time extensions). The current 20 min frequency makes it awkward, unless they fancied increaseing it and the 49 back to every 15 mins with every second 33 extending onto Dalkeith.

The 300 extending to the ERI would require an extra bus I think? Hence unlikely.

I’d imagine Marine will operate the 48 (single deck) although they’ll probably lose the 15 (double deck) to Central if it’s terminating at Waterloo Place.

Also note the 1 extended to Leith Links - maybe this will transfer to Marine too (if the 49 goes back to double deck).

Don’t forget single and double deck drivers at Lothian are on different contracts so they need to keep a certain balance whenever they do changes.

Also perhaps the new Travelshop / base at Shandwick Place is opening on the same date? Potentially seeing changeovers taking place there for breaks etc.

I saw the entries you've just described. It seems like the status of a service change can be either "variation" or "registered" - only registered ones showed up in my query. I have no idea how this system works...

27 popped up and it says Oxgangs or Hunters Tryst

It has been like this since 2002, when the records began: https://www.vehicle-operator-licens...-registered-local-bus-services/details/33495/

I see your point, still it’s only an extra 5-7 minutes down the road and seems like a missed opportunity, If they cut down the frequency from 20 to 30 minute throughout the day it could work?

Guessing 113/139 and 140 are not announced yet or effected.

What could they do to improve the current network here? Have the 106 run the whole route? Run the X5 on a Sunday or incorporate a proper evening timetable on the 106?

Would it not be better to cut the 49 in half, with Rosewll - foot of Leith walk and 48 extending to cover 49 to Foot of leith walk ?

Running all 106 services Fort Kinnaird or Musselburgh to Dunbar, direct. Going to Dunbar just now is fine, as the 106 is on time 99% of the time, but coming back the X7 is frequently late and the 106 doesn’t wait so getting to Musselburgh then involves a 104 & 113/124.
They could also just make the 106 wait until the X7 has passed to solve this problem though.

Oh, and investing in the 113 route would be nice, but is unlikely going by ECB’s history.

I think the long distance journeys on the X7 make it hard to stay reliable since it does cover over 30 miles! though I suppose with a 30 minute frequency it’s not bad! even so if the 106 had a proper evening service even Musselburgh towards Haddington it would continue making connections like that easy!

Can only dream! at the very least the nighthawks haven’t had any changes in awhile, i think the N106/N124 are fine but the N113 still needs to cover Pencaitland, I assume it’s popular in Ormiston
