Quite like both so I’ll have to abstain from voting.
Definitely mushy peas with fish and chips though.

I will also abstain from voting as I don't mind either, again depending on the context. We had pie and mushy peas with mint sauce just last night actually

I'm sorry guys but this is a wedge issue. No fence sitting allowed.

Oh gawd, well seeing as I like both then I’m going to have to stick up for the mushy pea because standard peas have enough help through life.

Vote now cast.

I like both I'm afraid, so it was difficult to choose.

depends what they are served with but there are some obvious ones:

Fish and chips = Mushy
Pie = Mushy

Has to be mushy, especially with shredded (or "pulled" as the kids like to say) ham in the mix. No mint seasoning though, mint should only be used to flavour confectionery or toothpaste: it ruins everything else it supposedly "goes with".

Non-mushed peas are best fresh from the pod straight after they've been picked.

I'd disagree - mint goes very well when used in sensible quantities with lamb, alongside a bit of rosemary and garlic. I do also add a bit of mint to canned Ham & Pea soup whenever I have it, just makes it a little more interesting.

Mint sauce is wonderful. I have it with any roast dinner.

Mint sauce I'll allow...

But when you order anything with lamb and it arrives smeared in something that resembles water from a slow-flowing section of the tidal Ganges, and tastes like raw iceberg lettuce in an old toothpaste jús, it's disgusting! <(;)

Oh yes. I prefer Colemans myself.

Horseradish for me.
So strong that it makes my eyes water...

Mushy peas, but I am very particular with them - they cannot be too mushy or the whole meal is ruined, there should be some texture rather than just a green slop.

I am not averse to garden peas but mushy is the clear winner in my view. Glad to see the forum dealing with the important issues of the day!
