FQ: Those scores were en-route to/from Hebden Bridge on a visit to my elderly godmother, it wasn't a bash as such hence the lack of trip report.

It was a nice surprise when I flicked through the NREA whilst on platform 1 at Victoria, thinking to myself "I reckon this one's dud", to then see it wasn't underlined was most welcome! Super Dud 156487 provided some welcome thrash from Rochdale to Todmorden and Super Dud 155342 took us forward to Hebden Bridge. On the way back, Super Dud 158756 took us straight through to Victoria. We'd waited on the platform for the 1505 in case it was required, therefore a Todmorden leap again. Nope, that was Super Dud 158787 and 153304! The 1442 before it, which we missed, was 150268 which I didn't need either.

Scoring the latest Metrolink tram for sight, 3112, was a welcome bonus though. Not sure my Mum appreciated the interest in it mind, although she did help with spotting tram numbers on the Metrolink moves

Morning all,

I've been meaning to post this for several days, following the announcement on Twitter, but for one reason or another I've forgotten.

#techsoverdoingit has been decided for the hashtag for 6th, 7th and 8th May! 6th May is me off to London, 7th May is the annual railtour and 8th May I'm on my way home. You'll all be shocked to discover I'm not going via Birmingham on the way home, but keep tuned to Twitter on the day and to the trip report to find out how this miracle occured!

I think it's a Pathfinder tour trying to go non stop from Paddington to Plymouth and back via Yeovil.

Just had a look at your planned route. There's a huge amount of new track for me too. However, as I can't be in two places at once, I will settle for raking in the gronks at Swanage that day

Hi all,

I mentioned it in Day 5 of my latest trip report, but there's been no responses to the question I posed, so I'm re-asking in this thread. As I'm sure most of you will be aware, I enjoy doing a Live Trip Report on Twitter, using a different hashtag each time. The question however is this:

Would it make more sense to use just one hashtag on a permanent basis?

My logic on Tuesday was that it would be easier to remember for those following the action, and it would save me coming up with new ones. I have got about 7 left that I've not used, so I could keep going with them for a while yet without issue. I could do with some input from the rest of you, especially those who follow it all on Twitter.

I did also consider using Twitter less when out and about, but I'm less fond of this idea.

Finally for now, I'm after views on my Live Trip Reports. Are there too many or not enough tweets? Is there too much detail or not enough? That sort of thing. If you would rather PM me about it feel free, as I am more than aware some people may be less inclined to reveal who they are on here and Twitter, for the sake of not standing out as a train brain to their mates on social media.

Keep using different hashtags, it makes it easy to follow each trip without having to dig through previous ones

Sorry for leaving this thread abandoned for a couple of months, I have been meaning to post on it for ages so here we go!

London is calling, unsurprisingly, and I'm off there again on 3rd August. Me and Blindtraveller plan to fill our boots in one of the greatest cities on Earth for a few days, possibly including an Anglia Plus move for some certain locos...Hashtag is set to be #BashersFantasy and tweets using that one will begin by 1730 on 3rd August and last until around 1930 on 6th August. Bring it on!

As for this Monday, well the hashtag is down as #TechWontBeOutDone and tweets will launch by 0700 on Monday. However, where I'm going is yet to be decided!

Cheers Keith, as is usually the case LU is involved. Buses too and a general avoidance of Southern as if it carried the plague, plus another go on the 700s is mandatory. If the plan sticks, the Friday will be the bit that I suspect will make the most enjoyable read...

I won't be arriving into Euston until 2100 and by then, as it's almost guaranteed to be an 8 hour shift prior to it, it's straight to East Croydon to get to base camp. The BBQ thing does sound fun, it has to be said though!

Mischievous or what? In theory, that would be a great idea but with all the things that I've got going on at present, we're going to have to give it a miss this year. Instead of consuming heavily charcoaled sausages & burgers washed down by cider & ale, any visitors to KJ Towers at present are more likely to find themselves either participating in acts of DIY or cataloguing hundreds of books [Ed: I'm sure the mere mention of DIY will get 'em running for the hills ].

I'll explain in due course once events come to a conclusion but I am really chasing my own tail at present, hence why trip reports are taking an absolute age to post. I've got Scotland day 3 still to finish plus another jaunt where the report is in the early stages of gestation. Lord knows whether I will even be able to do all the trips that I have planned for August but the first of those is not until the second half of the month so things may just have sorted themselves out by then.

Perhaps we ought to sort out a date for a sub-forum meet in The Smoke in 2017 though.

Morning all,

The latest round of TPP Mode is underway! I have a week off in mid-October, and I'm formulating several plans still. One has been dismissed, which was a severe working through of my list of ATW shack requirements. That's due to be dealt with in 2017, although the odd few are still scheduled to fall in 2016. It will be just over 9 days until things are planned more thoroughly and booked, but the wishlist includes and not limited at all to this lot:

- Tyne and Wear Metro shack clearance (and obviously hunting any winners)
- SPT Daytripper, or more helpful two in a row, to also include a few goes on the Subway as I need way too many sets on it
- GA shack scoring and unit hunting
- London for LU shacks and sets, not to mention a general clearout across the board
- South Yorkshire shack scoring and unit hunting
- Sheffield Supertram shack scoring and tram hunting
- GWR Turbo hunting and shack scoring

Obviously I won't be doing all of that, and a lot of it will come down to availability of decently priced Advances. I can tell you I'm expecting it to both be an expensive week and to be the year's last major bash. I've got the Vienna holiday in November of course, which I have to keep reminding myself is only just over 3 months away. I believe there is to be an Anti-Frothmas bash again in December, but by that portion of the year it's going to be difficult to find time for any decent trips.

What I can confirm so far is that on the Monday (the Sunday will be a day of recovery after a long week at work, and to prep for the week) I have a reasonably priced Advance to Carlisle. 37 bashing will of course be the name of the game, and the Ravenglass & Eskdale line will finally get covered! After that, the head's spinning round the other ideas. I have a hunch the S&C shacks may also get a look in, and being so close to Glasgow at that stage a Daytripper will be hard to turn down!

Hashtag for the trip is to be confirmed, although I'm pretty sure I know which one I want to use and have been waiting a few months to use. No surprise to you all, but it will be a Nightcore reference! I've already hinted at what I expect to use in my "Tech's a Devonian" trip report back in June 2016...

Fuller details will become available soon, ideally in the next 14 days. The hotel bill's going to be enormous...
