York was awful looking when I passed this morning, still dark but the river was very close to the railway at points. But aye, nowt in the NE really unless you count the landslip at Haydon Bridge!

Wherever you choose, happy hunting Lord Tram. I'll look forward to a trip report and whizz through your twitter feeds after work too.

Cheers my fellow Lords, it will be just what I need wherever I go. If I had the money I'd go on a massive rover trip!

You'll all have a trip report in about a week to read :D

Morning (technically!) all!

#techsBigBang2016 is starting a day earlier than expected, as I'm able to hitch a ride into town later. The caged lion is about to be released! :D

Granted, I was going to change plans and go to London to properly kick start 2016, alas ATW had the great idea to cancel my chosen train, the 1009 Hereford to Fishguard Harbour, between Hereford and Cardiff Central  Thanks guys, love you too! Any wonder why I prefer LM to ATW?

Nottingham it is then, with an overnight stay. I might even get some EMT units in while I'm up there!

Evening all,

I've just booked my base camp (Travelodge in Clapham Junction, I know I know but no conveniently located Premier Inn!) for Sunday night, which means only one thing...

LONDON BABY! :D:D:D

Hashtag due to be announced tomorow at some point, bring on the fun and games! The reason for choosing the Travelodge in Clapham Junction was for easy access to Wimbledon on Monday morning. If you haven't already guessed why, it's to try again for the PSUL working over Point Pleasant. I've not tried doing it for years, but I'm going to see if the 0454 Basingstoke to Waterloo does it or not. Cross your fingers for me all!

Ah yes Travelodge Clapham Junction. It's pretty decent to be honest if you haven't stayed before, new build, very modern and clean...

Have a great trip! Shame you are booked on carts from Moor Street to Marylebone and back though!

It is normally one of the more reliable workings 47403, so fingers crossed!

No choice but to be on DMUs both ways Mr Quinn, unless I wanted to leave London much earlier than desired! Might be able to get the 1155 if I'm quick on Sunday to London, but I can't get there before 1137!

Cheers for confirming the Travelodge is indeed handy rg177, I hope they've got plenty of insulated windows from the noise!

It's a shame that the offer isn't valid on peak services! 13 minutes New Street-Moor Street should be doable if you think that you'll be on a cat vice cart if you make it and will have more time in London!

Hold on, are you telling me the 1155 Moor Street to The Bone on Sundays is booked for a 68? If so I'll be racing down that road to get it!

Yep. 11:55 Moor Street to Marylebone (arrive 13:40) is a booked cat on Sundays. That gets you to London 28 minutes earlier after cat thrash.

In that case I'll be racing from the Bat Cave! Good thing you said about that. I'm hoping for 68012 or 68014 as I need both of those. Of course I'd not turn down any of the blue ones either!

A Shropshire Mog (12) is currently on the Banbury set, Gingertom (14) is at Crewe and of the two blue ones, 008 is the only one working on the Chilterns at the moment. The ones currently on Silver Sets are 008, 010, 011 and 013.

Aye the Travelodge is relatively quiet. Be aware of the pub outside though later at night [emoji14]

I reckon I'll end up being awake half the night in the Travelodge, if so I'll just head out on the bash earlier than planned!

I'll be starting on the 0521 from Clapham Junction on Monday morning, so those of you on Twitter will have several early morning tweets to read! Quite I'm going to have to dig out my Pumped Up Playlist on YouTube, after all it'll be an 0430 alarm!

On a side note, after today's little adventure (unplanned, I'll explain in a trip report tomorrow morning!) I've had an unexpected couple of micro-scores so happy days!:D

EDIT: Kite, see you at Marylebone on Sunday!

Ladies and gentlemen, just a quick update for now to alert you all to the fact the brain's firing on all cylinders this morning, which can only mean another round of TPP Mode is in full effect! :D

The calculator says yes to it all going ahead, so a big trip is in the pipeline. A week off work is just a week away, too complicated to explain why. Let's just call it team spirit! Hopefully the calculator isn't lying to me!

A further post in the next couple of days will confirm what I'm up to, but much credit due already to Blindtraveller for his massive help already!

I have a hunch but won't say it yet so I don't ruin it for others if I'm right ;).

Just kidding!

Is it a Central Scotland rover by any chance?

Yes it is! Megabus up a week tomorrow, then a Central Scotland rover, followed by moves south to Sheffield on the Friday where I've booked a Premier Inn ready for another silly o'clock departure. 0554 off Sheffield to Nottingham, to do the PSUL working over Attenborough Curve. One of only 3/4 trains a day to do it too. That's then followed by a probable Kangaroo after breakfast, then down to Birmingham and into place for a shack score at Bordesley. After which I'll be heading home, unless of course I bump into 390114...

So a very busy few days! Hashtag to be announced soon!

Sounds like a good few days out there. Just hope the weather is not too rancid for you on your travels and your PSUL move works. You never know, 390114 might just fall into your lap - I'm sure that everyone who follows your escapades is rooting for you and hope you come up trumps!

And without wanting to ruin it, his moves from Scotland to South Yorkshire arnt what youd expect and will Im sure make an interesting read in his trip report.
