They will most likely be LO's own fleet of 315 and 317 units.

How are they going to spare eight units from their existing fleet? The only other possibility could be the Great Northern Class 317s, which are supposed to be going off-lease by the end of this year, but apparently it seems that won't be considered.

Class 345s are supposed to be in service to Shenfield in May 2017 so there ought to be some 315s free soon afterwards.

I saw 319219 a couple weeks ago, shame to see its gone
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
I know this may be unlikely but Southern could take some Class 319's to boost capacity on metro routes and to use on the Horsham/Tonbridge line, and cascade the 377's to increase capacity on BML trains. The 319's could also be modified to work in multiple with the 455's after some work on the couplers is done. This could also allow 455's to be retractioned to improve reliability.

Wonder when it will be up at Allerton?

That's not quite true. Number is bigger. 25 is from the GTR ITT. But your getting 377/1s for sure.

Use 319s in the Southeast when 377s are available? I never doubted it for one minute. Unreliable 319s are only good enough for the North!!

Not quite sure what your asking/saying here. No 319s now on SE as they've got a better deal.

You mean the 377s that are a member of the same family as the 375s that Southeastern already uses thus simplifying training, maintainance, logistics etc etc...

But of course a logical explanation stops the usual 'chip on shoulder' rant which continues even after the new still-heavily subsidised Northern franchise was given approval for massive acquistion of new rolling stock.

We also won't mention ongoing use of 319s by GTR and LM in ....errr the South East...

Nevertheless TfL have repeatedly said they will not use another type of EMU on the Goblin on a short term basis.

I can see issues with overlapping lease costs, training duplication costs, and possibly stabling problems.

.

Even if they did they would be better taking the 317 from great northern. As there depot and trainers already know the units
(Not saying goblin drivers do)

Since when does Willesden know 317? That's where Goblin stock is looked after.
