Been offered the job but dnt start till next year?
Been told first 9 months at 26k then next 12 39k then it goes to 55k. Is this correct?

Also I'm sure I was told 20 days annual only? Can someone confirm.

As I understand it:

You'll work 8 weeks on, and 2 weeks off. The two weeks off are made up of annual leave, and also rest days carried over as some weeks will be a five day week instead of four.

It's 29 days annual leave, but 20 have been decided for you in the 8 weeks on, two weeks off roster pattern as above (but I suppose you could swap weeks with someone?), and one of the days is Christmas Day. This gives you 8 days 'ad-hoc' leave.
Bank Holidays will be normal working days (including Boxing Day! - Although you will get triple time, [but no day in lieu] for working Boxing Day.

When next year exactly? Seems like a long time, pointless to be recruiting so early if that is the case.... quite an unusual roster pattern.

They said it could be January February or March. September October and November start dates are all full.

iwantln I'm not to sure if they are all for ilford depot cause part of the training will be happening in Liverpool Street so they could mix up the group. But then again it could be ilford as they are still doing assessments and interviews from the Ilford trainee driver vancancy.

Newjobplease - the job offer is subject to medical and security checks. Was told in the interview that they are fully booked this year and I am looking at early next year January or Feb possibly late as March. I guess they can't confirm till medical and security.

Hi mozi, after each stage (on the same day) the successful candidates were told when the next stage would be..

I never waited more than 2 weeks between any of my stages... The longest wait was after the MMI and managers interview, which was on the same day 15 min apart, I had to wait exactly 1 month to find out I was successful

Hi new job please unfortunately I wasn't successful on the DO interview really gutted but I did have an easy run as I had sat the test with another TOC.
I had not given enough information on MAR was the feedback I received, I have managed to secure an interview with another TOC this coming week so keeping positive, well done to all the people who have made it was a gruelling process and I wish you guys all the best with your new careers at crossrail :)

I'm hoping to get ilford as that's what I thought was advertised way back when I saw it . I got medical on 3rd September and been asked to take in my new starter forms afterwards.its just the wait that's the killer.

Hi,
When did you do your assessment day 2? Did you have to wait long after that before the DMI?

I had my DMI On the 11th June and found out I had passed on the 17 th, and had my second assessment day 2 weeks before that so relatively quick between those two but the rest of it has taken its time.first applied back in February and now again have to wait till September for medical but was told during the interview that all this years courses are full now so it will be sometime next year ,IE .jan, feb or March .

Ok thanks mate, I got my assessment day 2 coming up, got any tips for the mmi?
On the first assessment day, the administrator said if we were successful the next training course is October, but I've heard a lot of people say it's all booked up till the new year.

Hi, I passed the assessments with Cross rail in April/May but unfortunately fell just short at the DMI. I received feedback and know where if fell short, so would be able to improve on my answer next time if it happens. Does anyone know if they'll be recruiting again soon? and should I apply again if so or would I just get a straight no thanks? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Moedot7

The purpose of the interview is getting to know you as a person, so you really need to sell yourself. It's likely they'll ask about previous experiences, and why you want to be a train driver, but yea as leebob34 said it's more of a two way conversation, they're not there to grill you with questions or to try and catch you out. Just remember to answer the questions and don't go off topic.
