i don't see how they can fill the positions internal without the applicants passing the tests.

you have to also understand Cauldwell as a maintenance depot has between 3 and 5 years left so a lot of the engineer's including myself have applied for these more secure roles to hopefully keep out future/pension ect safe.

on a later note i just did the online assessment and ran out of time for the last question

I did the assessment a couple of days ago. I am hoping like the others mentioned on here you are not actually supposed to be able to complete all the questions. I got to 14 out of 18.

I hope so too, I did the online assessment and only completed 16/18! Still, if I have 16 correct, that has to be better than 18 incorrect, right? I did the practice tests a few times to get my head round the questions and speed required. Practice went fine and I thought I would be ok for time! (Completing the 8 practice questions in 5-6 minutes)
How wrong was I???? The real thing seems to go much faster with a different passage to read for each question.

I did a trainee train driver assessment day this time last year, which i failed. feedback was gb test was my downfall, accuracy and speed was marginally out and to re-apply next time... Not seen any more trainee positions come up, but think I prefer the sound of the depot driver better anyway.

Here's to keeping my fingers crossed I get the call for the 17/20th may!

Do not know scores just know how many questions answered.

I realised as soon as i hit submit on the post that we won't get any scores until this week, probably after the 17th. Div.

Anyway, i did the full 18 questions with seconds to spare but had to re-read some as i went as i got into a tangle with a couple.

they send out some stuff to practice but will also practice the group bourdon tool and have a chat to me mate as he is a driver at bedford good luck on the 17th

Can anyone remember what the wages were for this, training and then qualified.......from memory £24k springs to mind whilst training?

Managers Interview

So no mechanical aptitude test.

my work will love me if its being spread out over 3 days, i thought previously only the managers interview was on a different day and they did stage 1 and 2 on the same.

Went far too fast for my liking (after a 12 hour shift and a 5am start this morning!)

I've emailed them to confirm exactly what it is and if it's linked to the assessment day I'm attending next Friday. I wanted to double check so I've not got the little 'un screaming at me if I'm doing something that needs me to be on form.
Nothing back as yet though.

Just done mine. Ouch as well.

Missed a few by a split second and got tangled up by a couple of the letter ones when you get to 5/6 seconds. Numbers were ok though.
