The delay attribution on your side must be pretty hopeless then. Ours almost always get dobbed to the TOC or FOC once we've told them what we know (assuming it's not our fault!), only coming back as an O-code if the driver then reports that he was checked somewhere. Still, I'd rather swallow an OC than have a driver in rather more bother for a station overrun...sense of proportion and all that.

I'll bite - what. please, is an O code?

It does do it's job reasonably well. But I would prefer good old fashioned sands. As much for getting traction when pulling away as for stopping

Sorry, got a bit carried away there - easy to forget that there's a non-railway audience! Every delay 'cause' in the attribution system has a two-character code, and the O* refer generally to operating (Network Rail) issues, probably the most common being OB (wrong regulation) and OC (signaller error) - neither of which are a welcome sight if you're the subject!

He probably forgot that he had to make the stop there; that can quite easily happen on a long run. He was running under green signals so no threat there. The 'good job it wasn't a terminus' comment is one of ignorance and a totally unecessary comment by the poster.

We all know voyagers are useless, just look at the mess at Chester station for further examples!.

I guess we will never know exactly what caused the over run but they happen, drivers are only human after all!, nobody died and we all got home safely so a happy ending by all

And as a plus point, any delays on that line for a while and further along the voyagers route will get attributed to that incident rarer than immediate assumption of o code!!!.... Score 1 for the signaller

I was thinking that. It's one thing to miss a station stop, it can happen to the best I'm sure and certainly I've heard a few amusing tales about it happening, but you're hardly likely to forget about a terminus!
