Apologies if this information has been given before but could someone tell me which southbound XC services are rostered for a 125 on Saturday mornings?

Over the past weeks it has been the 06:00 Leeds - Plymouth and 06:32 Dundee - Plymouth as the booked diagrams. May well be changing soon though, with timetable change and the usual extensions to Newquay and sending of HSTs to paignton & Penzance.

Not been XC HSTs to Penzance for a while now (2009 rings a bell).

Not been XC HSTs to Penzance for a while now (2009 rings a bell).

XC ran a HST to Penzance on Saturdays last summer, and the summer before, twas on 1V48 what would be the 0610 Newcastle to Plymouth however started at York and extended to Penzance arriving around 1550, this then returned on what would be the 1825 Plymouth to Birmingham, starting at Penzance at 1625, and then extended to terminate at Leeds.

There will be soon though. Two diagrams on a Saturday to Paignton (ex 06:00 Leeds & 06:00 Edinburgh), one to Newquay (ex 06:32 Dundee) and the one to Penzance is the 07:10 from York. I did the latter down to Penzance twice last year from exeter.

Yep, that's the one!

0632 From York is only running to plymouth, and its a voyager, I know, im gonna be working it!

Are you referring to this Saturday, or after the TT change? I know it is at the moment, I just wondered whether it was after the change, as per last year?

There's a 0650ish train from Sheffield to Paignton on Saturdays from at least 01 June that is an HST.

Can't wait to do a 125 past Dawlish sea wall again! :)

I do indeed. Just don't get chance too often.

Ahh fair enough. It's definitely great fun that's for sure even on the units that do the local services a run along Dawlish is good fun but on HSTs with droplights it's great.

It will be a sad day for enthusiasts when you can't do Dawlish with droplights on service stock :(

I was referring to a previous post which has been edited and changed now, which said something along lines of 06?? from york.

Yes that was my post that I edited. I thought that even on the Penzance services, the HST from York took the path of the 06:32 York - Plymouth, but I've been corrected and from looking back through my records I can see that it started later.

Apologies for any confusion.

If it's anything like last year, they'll be a 6 week period in which there are 4 diagrams everyday..... but on the other hand, that could have just been down to the Olympics. I think it was July & August when it was 4 a day.

Yes - looking through last years records when I had a few days out in that time:

Had 366/303 on the 06:32 York - Plymouth on Tuesday 31st July.
Then 285/207 on the same train the day after (Wednesday)
Day after (Thursday) - 303/366 on 13:23 Plymouth - Edinburgh

Following week 384/357 on 06:32 Dundee -Plymouth on Tuesday 7th August.

All the diagrams above, in the current timetable, are only HSTs on Mondays (the one from Dundee) or Fridays (the one from York which goes back 13:23 PLY - EDB).
