and if so I suddenly REALLY appreciate my 315's and 317's. Please don't go.........
I already do appreciate my 317s, I can't say I'm best pleased that the uncomfortable 379s will be finding their way onto Cambridge services... :-x
Not a fan of the older FSR 158 refurb. I find the seats pretty uncomfortable.
Always disappointed when the train to/from Stirling is a 158 with that interior rather than the newer style one (though a 170 is preferred over both).
Without a shadow of a doubt the FGW 142's - those Merseytravel seats look luxurios in comparison! What always baffles me though is why people still insist on calling them 'bus seats', given that the vast majority of buses have far superior seating.
Onto Cambridge services? Which ones?
Out of the 30 379s, 20 are for the Stansted Express and 10 are for Cambridge - Liverpool St services. They are due to be used on some Cambridge services from the timetable change in December. That's all I know.

Sooner the 322's go the better as they are Tom Kite!
do you like there replacements?
The Southeastern Class 375/9s have possibly the worst interior of any modern train. Cramped, uncomfortable seats in standard, packed in far too tight. I dread it when one of these turns up on my train in the mornings as everything has either gone numb or is in complete agony by the time I get off at Victoria.
Though they do have comedy value when trying to watch the more corpulent guards going sideways down the aisle.
Another vote for the 158s. When I wrote my post last night, I forgot to mention the slightly terrifying way the doors 'explode' outwards when you open them.

Personally I don't like the interior on a 350/2 - too cramped.
However I do like the LM 153s, nice and spacious; by standards of 2+3 seating, I like the central trains 150 interior - you can generally fit in the seats and they're nice and springy![]()
Why is it that London Midland can't simply replace the 3+2 seating on 350/2's with the 2+2 seating on 350/1's? Nobody likes 3+2 seating!
In reality they are looking to the opposite reputedly, fit the 350/1s with 3+2 350/2 interiors. Not seen it in any officialdom, but no reason to doubt who told me.
Much cheaper way of increasing peak seat capacity than using more miles on the many spare 350s or 321s on Northampton...
I quite like the Pendolino interior!![]()
The cream plastics and thick pillars are oppressive![]()
Surely the 350/2 interior is like the 360 or 450 interior? The 450 interior isn't so bad IMO

Yep, it's the same as the 450 interior (although with green seats), not a bad interior but the 458 puts any 3+2 interior to shame.
I defy anyone to sit in a Merseyrail Pacer seat for longer than ten minutes. They have no padding and the angles are all wrong. Quite frankly the worst type of seat I've ever encountered.
I find the Pendolinos vary greatly depending on where you sit. But, I'd have to say that I can't complain about the interior colours, they are rather different to your bog standard FirstGroup purple or whatever.

Are they being replaced by the 'Alien Abduction' 380s or the 334s?

The 380s look awful.
