196012 is on Nuneaton's today
196010 is the other unit.

Finally tried out a 196, the overall ambiance is really nice (the lighting is great) though the seats are the wrong shape for me and their thick backs make the legroom average.

Ooh I missed that somehow about 009. I'll have to keep an eye out for it and do a quick leap somewhere for it in the coming weeks. Or perhaps just wait a bit longer until another comes up I want, July's a busy month after all.

196101 is out but not on Shrewsbury’s… will do the 0840 from Hereford. Only noticed as I was getting that trip from Foregate St to BHM anyway and it was showing as cancelled at University.

I believe that may be because if its not fitted with guard panels in the saloon, it cannot call at University northbound.

Well I was fairly convinced that it's 2 and a 1/2 month break from traffic was so they could fit guard panels - the plan was to hunt her down last Saturday to see if she had them however the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton line fell to pieces so I though I was safer not to.

So if 196101 wasn't getting guard panels fitted, what was she away for? Or maybe she did have the guard panels and they were not working?

Yes, as the platform is on a curve
I thought so. It's just I have alighted there from a 2+2 196 and the guard dispatched from the rear, although they walked right to the furthest point from the track to do so. I assume it was just an honest mistake.

Use to happen quite a bit when the platform was quite narrow, especially on 323 sets being guarded from the middle.

has improved since the platform is much wider now.
