Winter in Llandudno

There's already an hourly Sunday bus service between Llandudno Junction and Llandudno, run by Arriva, the same company that are currently running the trains in Wales. You'd have thought that it wouldn't have taken much organisation for the trains division to arrange acceptance of tickets to/from Llandudno by the bus division on Sundays. But why bother if no one is going to make you? Think of all that money to be made from selling bus tickets. This country is rubbish at integrated transport - too many vested interests.

The Monopolies and Mergers laws are also a nuisance - public transport is one of the few areas where collaboration works far better than competition, and by and large there are natural monopolies in which the bus operators demonstrably don't take the mick even though they could.

Every day seems like inter in llandudno!

Not sure how serious you are being but Llandudno Is actually better than most places in winter, bit of a micro climate.

In FNW days Pacers did sometimes make it to the North Wales Coast, though I don't think they were the normal stock.

Well my line, 47 miles form London, doesn't have a Sunday service so one not serving a Welsh coastal outpost off the main line hardly surprises me!

And not before time too! Personally for me it's just a 20 minute walk or hop in a taxi to the mainline station, but some of the more distant villages it is a bit harder to get about...

It's not just that, but it also limits the usefulness of the railway for going away for a weekend from MK/Bletchley, either via a flight from Luton or to somewhere in the north or east Midlands, when you can't go back via Bedford on a Sunday.
