interesting this morning - the wholesale price has been quite high (£130/MWh) and it looks like battery storage was on full discharge to make space for the solar later today when the price will no doubt be much lower. They will be clearing £100/MWh easily: not bad for one day’s work.
The interesting bit is that this is directly impacting gas generation - ie the 2GW or so of Battery output this morning had a direct effect on reducing gas generation.
