Wigan to Bolton electric services

I notice there was a test train under the newly wired Wigan - Bolton line. What is the timetable for electric services on this line?

I'd like to have a ride one weekend.

At present services are still operated by the 769 with a power changeover at Bolton. The power changeover is planned to move to Ince eventually but there is currently no timeframe for this.

Overnight test running on the OHLE was ran during the early hours. On Tuesday 3rd June 323224 & 323227 worked 3Z98 0118 WGN to WGN via BON. While on Wednesday 4th June 331017 & 331026 worked 3Z98 0118 WGN to WGN via BON. Out of the two test paths only the ex 0118 path ran. I do believe the testing was successful. I'm not 100% sure but it was mentioned that the switch over will move to Ince from the end of this month. "Should" be all 769 Bi-Mode on that route from December timetable changes with only the diesels 15x services via Atherton. Plans may change before that.

Trains will change at Ince because there are no wires Wigan Wallgate to Southport inclusive, so they can't use them there.

Unfortunately you won't be able to ride a 323 or 331 at the moment.

Fingers crossed for some engineering works or a Sunday that sees a 323 or 331 swapped in, although that will probably be a 2026/2027 thing if it does come along. Obviously the Sunday situation is quite parlous at present and for at least the remainder of the current timetable.

I've noticed some power changeover shaped signs have appeared at Hindley and Ince. They're covered up for now so I can't be certain that's what they are.
