The Holy Inadequate at Etruria needs a station ...
Saved by a vociferous campaign. One of London’s best pubs.
Depending on what you are interested in, there are several real ale and not so real ale pub crawls from the station using the tram.Anything in Sheffield Hillsborough?![]()

There are plenty of guides and write ups.
Shows how long it is since I used to go in!Kenlis Arms at the site of the old Garstang & Barnacre station would be better - its still a pub, not a poncy eatery
The Waiting Room isn’t one of my favourites ( prefer The Hermitage ) but it’s a 70s/80s building. Was there a pub on the site when the Station was open? The Waiting Room in Morningside is a horrible pub but, as the name may indicate, used to have a great station out the back.
With a lovely bridge still there. The Waiting Room in Morningside is a horrible pub but, as the name may indicate, used to have a great station out the back.

The football ground is further out not so well served but there are few.
Tramlines Festival might be a good starting point- it's an annual (in normal circumstances) multi-venue music event but all venues are served by the trams as the name suggests. I'm pretty sure they're all licensed venues and once the lockdown is lifted they'll probably be grateful for the custom. Can you provide a link if any of these suggested "Sheffield beer crawls by tram" are available on line? A potentially fun trip for much later in the year....
Anything similar available for Manchester?

Indeed. The Gardeners Rest in Neepsend is arguably the best pub in Sheffield. Right opposite is the long-derelict Stones Brewery; a sad sight, even though their beer was pretty awful.MAP map is good but the adverts are selective.
Check opening times -some closed Sundays
From station use the Blue tram to Malin Bridge,( there are dozens of pubs, bars, foodbars, eats and whatever along the route along West St and Glossop Road. Get off at University for Bath Hotel and University Arms) pubs. Then carry on to Shalesmooor for the Wellington, Ship, Shakespeare, KIT, Fat Cat, Riverside ets
The walk alternative from/to, the station along the river is flat and passes some interesting pubs
For their real aleness use CAMRA.

It doesn't seem like yesterday, but it was 2009 when I visited Inverness! Really interesting to see trains going over the swing bridge over the canal, and then see it openingThe Good Beer Guide-listed Clachnaharry Inn right next to the railway on the outskirts of Inverness could qualify for a microstation; indeed it used to have a station, and the station footbridge is still there and in use. Fortunately, you can get a bus from the centre of Inverness, or reach it by walking along the Caledonian Canal.
Here is a picture of it in 2013 and again in 2019.
