Why are Manchester United and Newcastle United given their full name, but West Ham United aren't?

I copy and pasted the names from a league table online. Maybe a question to pose to the source of that league table!
Cardiff, Swansea and Stoke all should have a City suffix as well

I must also confess that I find myself utterly embarrassed by the tribalist section of Rangers supporters - they're the ones who sing "Rule Britannia" at matches, fly Union Jacks with no regard for what it represents, verbally abuse anyone who doesn't toe their party line, etc. They, alongside the tribalist Irish Republicans of the Green Brigade who show banners such as the William Wallace/Bobby Sands one, create the image of the "stereotypical" Old Firm supporter and give all the rest of us a bad name.

I remember reading an article which said that in the UK, 51% of people who actively supported a team (i.e. go to the match) supported a team outside of the prem. The poll results so far seem to be about in line with this. Obviously perception can be skewed by TV coverage who naturally concentrate on the prem.
I remember a couple of years ago the BBC ran a supporter of the year competition, and the winner was a Chesterfield supporter who hadn't missed a single home or away match for years. The prize: 2 tickets to a top premiership match. But the guy who couldn't go, because Chesterfield were playing that day!

I am the solitary fan of Hyde on the forum.......but at least I keep their profile raised on the Football thread.

Oldham Athletic is my "league" club that I have connections with for 50 years (I believe that familyguy99 also supports them and makes regular postings about them on the Football thread).

Other Latics fan here and I been season ticket holder for seven long years, I like to see Hyde and Droylsden do well this season as probably because Hyde have only won once this season and Droylsden have lost all their matches this season par from two.

Not surprised that more than 50% have voted 'Other Team'.

The only clues as to which team I support are - they are in a lower league the Skrill Premier, they have played more than one premiership team in the F A Cup in the last decade, and they have played in more than one F A Trophy final.
