Could this be a Southern Railway location perhaps? The Way Out sign seems to have a green background as does the sign on the building to the left side of the oil/gas lamp. It could of course be just a tint on the film itself.
The scene is slightly familiar, and I would place it in southern England not Northern, but I can't get any further. I agree that the surrounding footage is Up North but not the station. It doesn't "feel" Southern to me - although I accept my opinion's got about the value of a franked 30p stamp.
What's kind of unusual (to me) is the lack of signals. There's no starter on the opposite track, and you can't see a signal protecting the trailing crossing at the end of the platform.
Given that it is colour film- I wonder if it was on the lead up to D Day and shot using an American film unit- in which case a Southern/ South West location is viable. The scene is slightly familiar, and I would place it in southern England not Northern, but I can't get any further. I agree that the surrounding footage is Up North but not the station.
I think I can make out a platform starter and, beyond it, a signalbox. Not unusual for the home signal not to be close to the platform.
Is that a station nameboard low down on the building, dark letters on light background?
I can't locate it on the SR at all.I am more inclined to think that this is a GW station and quite probably Wales, given the military connection I mentioned earlier.

I believe you are correct. Very well done if it is.
The building on the left platform seen here at Marlborough is a very good fit for the building posted upthread:

I believe that this may be Marlborough. The tunnel, curve and what looks like a junction behind the loco all fit.
Further in the brief clip of the troops getting off the train there can be seen some steam to their right which could be a loco in Marlborough Upper sidings.
All long gone. of course.
Found out where it is! Its Wentworth and Holyland near Wentworth, Yorkshire.

After a bit digging I found out the end credits which had the archive footage sources.
The clip was in the middle of a sequence from the Yorkshire Film Archive so guessed it was from there.
And Bingo!

Thanks! Had an hour to kill and like a challenge!
Anyone lost any needles in a haystack that they would like found?
.I spent a good deal of time following the Royal Welsh Fusiliers angle. And churches. Your film shows that the rest of the archive scenes in the Churchill video were indeed from other sources, as I suspected.
Well done Dubscottie. It turns out that the station in question was surprisingly local to me, I'm going to see if I can get to what's left of it and take a photo to post here as a 'then & now', access depending.
