Mine has yet to leave its box, I worry that my ham fists will ruin its exquisite detail.
There doesn't appear to be a retailer recommendation thread to post this, so I'll pop it in here.....
I am on a DCC fitting mission with quite a lot of decoders to buy, but I have found an excellent German retailer, Fischer Modell, for extremely well priced Zimo (Bachmann) and Lenz decoders. Postage is a flat €14.90 so you really need to buy a few at once for the best saving. And no import duties.
I just got 6 Lenz Silver Mini+ 6 pin decoders for around £24 each, including postage, which I reckon is an excellent deal. The equivalent Bachmann 6 pin decoders (36-568A) are rarely available for under £30 in the UK. This is the 4th time I've ordered from F-M, having previously bought Zimo 6 and 18 pin decoders, all at similarly good prices. They always seem to have plenty units in stock (there is live stock availability on their website) and delivery takes about 5 days via Warenpost and Royal Mail tracked.
So if anyone has a few decoders to buy, check out Fischer Modell when comparing prices.

I have spare 8 pin decoders ex oo gauge locos I've sold.
Various recent arrivals here:
Bachmann (s/h in local shop) 4MT 2-6-0 76058 (SR loco so no need to re-number)
EFE (in sale) ex-LSWR 3-set, the only one to retain green till withdrawal.
Dapol signals (now working).
Metcalfe platforms (near one needs reworking as it fouls the goods yard access line, so good excuse to add some concrete edging vice stone....)
Click on photo to get it through 90deg.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I see that Moors View is in the calendar that came with the November (dated) Railway Modeller. It is December’s photo, so I won’t be able to look at it for eleven months: I have the strange superstition that from the beginning of the year it is bad luck to look at a month before it starts.

.In a slightly larger scale - although not my modelling period and location - I fancy the Bachmann "distressed" 47706 and 47526. Both locos I saw and photographed during their Padd to Oxford / Banbury turns, in the good ol' NSE days.
On my first trip to Scotland in 1988 47535 worked the Carstairs to Edinburgh portion of our overnight train. While my dad toddled off for breakfast my stepbrother and I spent a couple of hours going to Haymarket and back to tick off various 47/7s and rare Scottish (for us) 47/4s. We then took the train to Dundee and it was 47535 again - an incredibly common loco around Exeter that seemed to be haunting me that day!

Yes, it's in BR lettering - probably much-revarnished SR malachite says bloodandcustard. After I bought it, the retailer then offered sets in BR red...Ah - yes - very nice as well (and a good price!). Marginally too early and not sure they ventured far enough east for me though

The Accurascale Class 31s are now (finally) approaching... Could have done with it not being the same month that my car's tax, insurance and MOT are also due, but such is life. Looking forward to having a 'goyle to run on my still-unfinished layout!

So I have started to bid on Class 37s at the lower end of the price range. My first success:

Ah, that would have been the overnight from Bristol I'd imagine. Taking it in the opposite direction to you was our staple for spotting trips back then. The loco that took out the 23.45 Edinburgh portion to Carstairs always returned with your portion the next morning, having festered overnight for 7hrs. For this reason, it was quite often a failure and a replacement loco would have to be sent.....usually from PO or ML back then (rather than HA) which turned up the occasional oddity. Unfortunately, it sounds like 47535 was running smoothly during your visit! Back in the early 80s, it was nearly always a 81 or a 85 that took the portion south, but was probably a 86 or 87 diagram by your visit
I was commuting to Glasgow that year so 47701 - 712 weren't exactly rare for me......although I did my best to avoid them by getting the loco hauled MK2 set that formed the 07.40 to QS and the 17.40 back. Some proper beasts turned up on that over the few years it was running! I was also on the 17.40 the night of Polmont, but that's another story for another thread!

You can't go wrong with a Lima 37. Still a nice representation of 80s and 90s machines in my opinion, and there are some satisfying bargains to be had.

A new arrival at Fort George is this WCRC BSK acting as a support coach on a move to Tom-not-faire depot:
It’s certainly a nice model, but I’m not sure it will be featuring on my Fakeobite workings as there’s a bit of a colour difference with my Accurascale Mk2’s. I accept that in real life the Mk2’s may be a bit lighter in colour, but I do think the difference is far too profound on the models, with the Bachmann Mk1 being too dark. Nevertheless, it looks reasonable as a locomotive support coach so is still a useful addition.

I got a Hornby Class 66 in FL orange intending to use it DIT in a train hauled by my FL Bachmann Class 90, but the colours were ridiculously different! That’s a very nice coach even with the colour difference however!

A second Lima 37 arrived in the post this morning, in the shape of 37511 Stockton Haulage.
This loco also has a KWVR connection - in its later guise of 37607 it appeared at the 2001 gala, where I sampled it for haulage.

Quite a drastic colour difference. It's been a while since I've seen a WCRC kettle special, but I recall the support coach being more matte than the glossy Mark 2 passenger carriages - certainly appearing darker, but nowhere near as stark as they are here.
Very nice! Can't quite see the nameplate detail, but if you fancy tarting the ol' tractor up, Fox Transfers do a wonderful pair of etched nameplates for Stockton Haulage.

Thanks. The nameplate and Thornaby kingfisher plaque are the original flat versions. Good enough for my needs.

I can find no connection between this loco and the KWVR, but I did enjoy a ride behind it when it was a different shade of blue and still numbered 37226. This was the occasion:
So it is a bit of a multi-coloured collection of Syphons that I am building.

Mainline was a nice livery on the 37s though - is there a livery that doesn't look good on them? I always associate Mainline with Class 60s, mind.
Very happy with my recent purchase from Rails and fans of both British and European traction can appreciate it, I think. As a bonus, the box came with a very nice glossy colour spread outlining the history of the class (all in Dutch) with a poster on the other side. Excuse the photo quality, my camera is having its MOT at the moment so I'm stuck with my 'phone.
