A Fairburn is on my wanted list as well, but I need to let the wallet recover a little... Having said that, I did pick one of the tanks up for not much more than what you were paying a while ago, and the 4-6-0 was only a tenner more that that with DCC onboard. There is a remarkable disparity between the price between some classes, even in the 2nd hand market - as soon as you mention anything "bigger" like a BoB/WC or Merchant Navy you can see the jump in price, even for models that are in nowhere near as good condition!Great stuff. Ten years ago, I had a small buying spree on Bachmann's Ivatt and Riddles 2-6-0 4s - near-mint examples selling for £40-45 - and I have seven waiting for a suitable roster!

Yes, real headcodes would be nice, but the dominoes are what I remember from the spotting days in c.1979. I can still remember my first very excited trip to St Pancras, where a wee Scots lad got to see peaks in extraordinary numbers! Cricklewood was a blast too! Lots of interesting rats as well as peaks!
That's a good assessment.......to quote Frances McDormand in the magnificent 'Fargo', "kinda funny lookin' " but quite striking at the same time!
