A fairly major part though. These ceremonies have developed into major celebrations of the country's history and culture - yes, even Sydney! - and yet Britain wheeled out the worst, not the best, of its current output. OK, it was not the opening or closing ceremony, but it seemed that all the organisers could come up with were football and pop culture, areas that Britain has not excelled in for forty years. Embarrassing and cliched. Let us hope the main ceremonies avoid that.
I shall be watching on telly - assuming I can master the digital switchover.

I am not ashamed to admit that I will be watching - especially the Athletics 100m final etc....

I may just tune into the "beach volleyball" if I get the time

I'm taking two weeks off to watch the event. It will be a cracker!

I might watch some events such as diving and beach volleyball, but purely to admire the athletic beauty rather than the event itself. I hate Olympics and the politics surrounding it with a passion.

Can't afford tickets for decent seats so won't bother going at all.

If lucky, I'll do some unusual stocks on lines they don't normally run, otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

Sorry I did mean spotting not spitting!

Maybe at the platform end further up the line might be an idea, I still need 4 315s to clear the lot for sight, and I can never find them so it might be a chance to finally find them! Same goes for 321s, there is a handful to go and I always see the regulars but I might actually find them!

Will be interesting to see what goes from here to Weymouth, I can't see it being too frequent what with the Yeovil sections only being single track!

A rush hour session at Bethnal Green will give you a high chance of clearing your 315s - I'm down to just 2 for haulage and I've never had to sit around waiting for any for too long.

To stay on topic, I'll be in London for a couple of days during the Olympics as I have tickets for 2 events. Just need to arrange the time off work next!
