Will most of you be staying away or out on achardcore bash aroundcstratford? I might book the week off and do an epic spree in london, hell i might even finish my 321s! I reckon all the 395s will be out in the busy areas. I suspect most routes will run overnight so would take the opportunity to do these overnight. I don't know what will happen on non NXEA routes but id imagine a lot of stock will be availsble for haulage. it will be interesting when the weymouth games are on too. But of course any hellfire tours that might run on the olympics will have to be considered on weather i book it or not

We might get lucky and FGW will use either a hst or loco hauled train to work extra services from Bristol to Weymouth. i might also go down to Weymouth to photo any crosscountry services which are extended there.

I wont be going anywhere near London, thats for certain if possible. That said the boss coach company I work for has said that some coaches could be hired to take visitors to London after they have flown into Cardiff airport, so I could be working on private hire, which certainly hope not as I hate driving into London.

I might be able to escape for a week or so if i do an ALR

Well for three days I will be in London, watching tennis at Wimbledon, cycling in Velodrome and athletes including men's 100m final. AP tickets and Hotel near Paddington already booked and I have a free day between events. Will watch the triathlon on that day, but will get some bashing in for an afternoon with my free games travelcard!

The Olympics is an event that interests me not all. I will deal with it in the same way I deal with the World Cup - ignore it as much as possible and make sure I have sufficient books and DVDs to keep me entertained when there is no baseball on ESPN America.

After the spectacular display of art, talent and skilled entertainment that the Chinese people had put on for their opening ceremony, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the representations of the 'British' public had been done through Leona Lewis, David Beckham, a man in a wheelchair and a teenager in a hoodie with his hair spiked up and his hands in his pockets. Nothing was shown for proper British history, such as Shakespeare, or Charles Dickens, it was simply a mocking show of how this country is gripped by the lives of celebrities, political correctness and drop outs.

As the commentators said at the time, half of the Chinese people didn't even know who Leona Lewis was.

Good luck to the athletes, and good luck to London. I might watch some of the events, but not the festives.

I have no interest in the games at all but I also hate football, but I do love the footex shuttles that run, especially when they used to with locos at each end, didn't mind standing on a rowdy train!

Spotting at Maryland might be a better idea actually then? As for javelins maybe it's just best that I clear them for sight at St Pan!

We are talking of Stratford,London 2012 and not Stratford Upon Avon 1812. How many people walk around like Dickens and speak like Shakespeare. At least the country we live in now is far better then 'Dickension conditions that were around then. Anyway Shakespeare and Dickens are like todays people one small part of Britains history.
