What is 158 806 doing up North?

It looked a lot smarter then anything Northern have! Especially the one I saw today (didn't catch its number) that was running with graffiti all down the side :(

158888 seems to be having a spell on the Yorkshire Coast Line at the moment, its just been past in the last hour. Was a nice surprise to see it work my train home from work the other day - with all the "ooo shhh we haven't got a first class ticket" people making their way through hahaha

Anyone know what diagrams its working at the moment? Thinking Id spend a bit longer at work to get it if its scheduled for later on!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between the EMT and SWT liveries on 158/9s?

(I appreciate the difference between the mainly red Stagecoach, mainly blue Stagecoach and mainly white Stagecoach train liveries, but hadn't appreciated that the 158/9 liveries differed)

Erm - SWT have a continous blue block running at window width along the entire length of the train; EMT have a block with curved ends on each coach. EMT doors are all orange, as opposed to just the front and rear-most doors. The yellow fronts are also applied slightly different as well.

SWT have all orange doors

Indeed, the 159/1s had red doors (orange for the end set of doors) when first refurbished, but these were repainted orange to match the refurbished 159/0s and 158s.

I agree that the EMT one works better; subtle differences (that I'd never noticed before!), but I think the EMT one suits the units more
