I hate it when I type the letter 8 followed by a close bracket, as I did in this post for it to be turned into a smiley 8)

Yes I've done it before with 8) and try to correct it in the preview before hitting submit. I try to write it as 8.) or 8 ) but don't always remember to change it.

A very good point. Although, it can be quite entertaining to laugh at BMW M3 drivers who get stuck behind such people...

People that park outside a shop, regardless of where it is, put their hazard lights on, then walk into said shop. They completely block one side of the road and cause traffic in both directions to slow down and manoeuvre around them!! :roll:

A specific example is a 'corner shop' at the edge of my estate, which is on a tight bend. People stop on the bend, and do exactly what I've said above. This particularly annoys me! :-x:-x

I was on the M8 (worst in Scotland, must be one of the worst in the UK) where someone was on the middle lane at 40mph (yes, 40mph!), although the speed limit was at 50mph for that section, it's still very slow for 9am Sunday morning. When they left the Kingston Bridge, they moved over. Sadly, they moved into the Right Hand Lane

One thing that ye can do to prevent the board from converting UBB markup and smiley codes into corresponding HTML is to use the [plain] tag (Meaning "Do not parse this text") around the offending text to disable UBB conversion for that section of text - For example, typing:
. . . [plain][URL=http://www.google.com]Check out this site! 8)[/URL][/plain]
should display
. . . [URL=http://www.google.com]Check out this site! 8)[/URL]
insted of "Check out this site! 8)"

Anyhow, there are two things that will irritate me if ever I get them: Eczema and Psoriasis! hock:

On another forum I use, the 8) smiley was created by using B) which is awkward when trying to do lists. So the admin changed the code to create it to : cool : (no spaces)

EDIT - aha, it works here too! So if we can get eight-bracket disabled, we'll be fine!

I hate it when we have a thread that asks a question, someone provides a definitive answer, and yet it gets missed because idiots who have no clue what theyre on about just have to give their worthless opinion. And then, someone else posts the correct answer, and it either gets missed again, or everyone hails this person as a genius, even though someone else already came up with the amswer.

This most recently happened on the damaged HST power car thread.

I'm also going to add to this thread again (you guys are gonna have to get used to me complaining -- I do a lot of it -- but at least here I have an excuse!)

You know what really grinds my gears? When people can see you are CLEARLY busy, and doing your best to politely signal to them that NOW.IS.NOT.A.GOOD.TIME just doesn't work, so you actually have to come out with something along the lines of 'can we talk about this later' and end up looking like a tit. Some people just don't get the hint!

Things that irritate me, this could be a while.

To start with the government, the idiots at the moment are too busy arguing with each other and spending too little time fixing up the country they have ruined.

Secondly, I hate with a passion people who binge drink or drink because they want the 'buzz' from alcohol, if you drink it, drink it for the taste, if not hurry up and die. (terrible I know but alcohol isn't needed and kills you off anyway)

Parents who cannot look after their children or are too lazy too, we've all seem them they sit there and feed their child chips every night so they become fat, then complain when their child turns out fat.

People with tattoos and piercings all over their body, I am sorry to say but when I mean this I'm talking about bald people with dragons scrawled over their heads and people with 1000mm ears, what's the point you look like you've been drawn on and stretched by a team of six year old kids making a new toy.

Stupid people, the way they say the worst things, especially on the internet, you may want to check out a well known idiot farm Yahoo! Answers just to have a good old laugh, if you don't want to waste your time searching for stupid questions then try Yahoo Laughs, because stupid people need to be laughed at.

People using the word 'loose' (which is the opposite of 'tight') when they mean 'lose'! Another one which seems to be a common mistake is 'formerly' and 'formally'.
