Well, I've often thought about offering to play them some hits from my MP3 player to show them the error of their ways but I suspect I might be soundly rebuffed ;)

Wow, people are really annoyed by a lot of things. Although its universal to be easily p**sed off by the littlest of things.

Other motorists is big one for me, its amazing that on my 120km round trip from uni to home I have at least one near miss accident every day, the second I can afford to is to buy Ambulance membership. There are so many people in this world that should be banned from driving.

Bogans/chavs p**s me off too, they think the appalling culture they are stuck in is the norm when it isn't, and when you see them you can only think about the sad upbringing they had and that they will one day regret their sad choice of lifestyle after a life of disadvantages and lack of social and economic opportunities.

The Victorian Government p**s me off all the time, when they do things that are either grossly not needed or grossly over budget and the long list of incompetence they are so known for is enough to make you want to move to Adelaide or Sydney.

Public transport, the idiots they employ, the lack of funding into it and the lack of forward planning, the lack of money spent in the right places, the lame excuses they use to show that they are actually improving the services, a few bright new signs does diddly squat. Paining something in new colours does not mean the train or carriage is new and therefore 'new trains/carriages' is a blatant lie.

Advertising new freeways despite not an inch of the road being laid, but in fact its is being planned is not the same and is grossly misleading, especially if you're a dithering old fool who thought the road exists and drives round looking for it.

Shops that insist on putting out all the Christmas stuff in October, but come December 26th, you can find nothing Christmassy at all, and then they have the audacity to put Easter stuff out just after Australia day in January really burns my arse.

5 cent coins! Enough said there!

Melbourne's annoying '4 seasons in one day' weather, if its going to be cold, then keep it cold, or if its going to be hot, keep it hot! Having a nice warm day, then the next day is cold and wet only for the next day to be even warmer than the one before it. grr!

What irritates me?

People with the surname "Brown"
****ing Gordon. ****ing Derren. Those 2 ought to be enough to convince the world that all people with that surname should be eradicated forthwith.

why? what has Derren Brown done to you?

ill agree Gordon Brown is a **** but please do tell us your upmost hate for Derren as on another thread you said hes a dead man?

(like you said we`ll need it for evidence)

Ha ha, I agree with you about the mobile phone music. Lets face it, It's never anything good. I wouldn't mind if just occasionally it was a good tune like "nights in white satin" or "Scarborough fair". Same goes for booming music in cars.

No that's not right. Just because you like it doesn't mean others will.

If you played Simon and Garfunkel there is bound to be others you don't like it. So it is as irritating to them as Rap is to you. If everyone just used headphones....

Another few to add to my own list...
  • Our Government erroneously thinking that they have the right to tell each and every one of us what we can and can't do, and how we are to live our own bloody lives. <(
  • Needing x amount of time to perform a given task, but only having x/10 amount of time available. :(
  • Broadband providers not allowing customers to choose how their connections are "split" between upstream and downstream bandwidths. I have 10mbps download and 400Kbps upload here, but with my general activities I'd much rather have that as 3Mb/s download and 7Mb/s upload...
  • The fact that even with my 10Mb/s connection, uploading data to Windows Live SkyDrive takes an absolute age. I've got about 17.5Gb total data to upload to this thing in total, damnit!:?

On a railway theme, platform 17 Leeds City Station. Not only is it about as far as you can get as the crow flys from the ticket barriers, its also very convoluted to get to as the staircase from the footbridge faces in the wrong direction and is much longer than the others. You could try taking the slowest lift in the world as a shortcut but if you're in a hurry there'll be some nitwit holding it at the platform. Its also more exposed to the elements than the rest of the station. I do try to give myself ten minutes to get there but delays happen.

Oh, and the fact that they never play the whole theme tune at the end repeats of Inspector Morse any more.

Another one: Stupid dumb****s who completely miss the point of what you're trying to say, and then get all politically correct on you, while ****ing themselves over their own misunderstanding. The same kinds of people who also love pulling the 'racism' card. God in heaven, I hate people. I hate, hate, hate them.

Getting 'your' and 'you're' confused annoys me!
Same here, and when people say "of" instead of "have", e.g. "I could of done something" people who say that just don't understand basic English and make themselves look stupid. People who say "too" instead of "to" are annoying but very few people are that thick!

Also other random daft things like posts beginning with "^^". Why?!

I think its like, instead of quoting the post above, you put ^^ to show you are replying to the above

Maybe, but which part of the above? Are we meant to guess? It makes it hard to follow what they are replying to exactly and as they've pressed Reply it's obvious they are replying to something but not obvious what they are replying to exactly. Anyway it doesn't annoy me a lot, just a little bit ;)

It really depends on how each reader interperets it. I participate in "Icebreaker" threads on other forums (An example can be found via This link) and on those each use of the ^ symbol generally indicates a reference to that number of posts above, so ^ will mean "the post above", ^^^ will mean "third post above", and so on. :)

If ye want really complicated and annoying notation though, try getting to grips with Regular Expressions...;)<D

Another thing that annoys me is that the software for this forum keeps filtering out some of the URLs that I post, despite such URLs going to perfectly safe and legitimate sites that are completely in context with what I'm discussing here...<(

One of the most irritating things is when postmen, paperboys and junkmail deliverers only push items half way through ya letterbox; especially in the winter as it lets all the heat out and the cold draught in! :x

I,m guilty of that.

No.

There is no such thing as its'.
But that doesn't stop people saying it.

Others include "dose" instead of "does", "baited" instead of "bated". When someone says they have "baited breath", I wonder what they are trying to catch

A few things. NXEC staff at Newcastle, White van man,
And the old timers you meet when they say that steam locos are the best and that the modern locos are coke cans on wheels
