What's annoyed me in the last 24 hours:

• Time running a lot faster than it ought to.
• Not having the ability to freeze the passage of time, allowing me to catch up with everyone else.
• Not being able to use the RailUK chat forum tonight (Although I can see exactly why the Mods have suspended it. )
• \\Gandalf throwing a severe corruption on the boot drive, and becoming - For most intents and purposes - Pretty damn useless without a reinstall. Until I've got it working again, that's my entire backup solution right up the spout! hock:
• My hair still refusing to grow more than 75cm long...Given that I've been growing it since 2001CE, it should really be 2+ metres by now!
• Me still being a 5'7" high shrimp with not even enough strength to push-start a bus, let alone lift one... ad:

What used to annoy me is when people know you are an enthusiast, they expect you to know what the train times are from xxx to xxx at xxx day ect. Sorry I don't study the NRT!!! But when I don't know what the hell the times are, I just say look on the net, but then apparently I wasn't an enthusiast as I didn't know the train times!!

As much as i desire to have long hair, it doesn't go well with a physical job. As soon as you get a sweat on {really shouldn't be happening} you end up with a right mess, similar to the Professor out of Back to the Future. It was touching my eye lids at the front, but now i've had it cut, Grade 2 Back and sides, Grade 4 on top.
I last had it cut in August and that was work enforced. I was trying to put some clamps on at the height of a decent August day and my eyes were stinging from the sweat running into them!

oh god, I get the same question!!! I just say: ring National Rail Enquiries, I don't give a f***

Generally speaking I can't even remember the times for the trains to Basingstoke from here...But if someone annoys me with such a question and I know the time for the train that they want anyway, I'll normally give them a time about 5-10 minutes later than the actual departure time. :razz:

If they have a go at me next time they see me, I just "think" for a few seconds and then apologise, telling them that the times I know are from the old version of the timetable, and not the up-to-date version! hock:

I often get asked how long a specific bus or train will be (All of my friends seem to use me as their national transport enquiry service! :roll and I'll normally opt for the usual but unhelpful response as to how long the vehicle will probabally be in metres! :roll:

Another good trick to play: When someone asks me for a recommended direct route (Say; London > Edinburgh) I normally give them a route that's anything but direct - I.E: Euston > Birmingham NS > Sheffield > Man Picadilly > Preston > York > Darlington > Edinburgh! hock:

I'll agree with ye on that at least. I'm no labourer (Come on, I can't even bump-start a bus! :cry but I do a lot of long distance walking at higher speeds - About 6-8mph over distances of up to 20 miles - And if the ambient temperature is above -5°C then I start to have the same problems with it.

On the other hand though, I normally keep my hair tied back most of the time, and I find that this helps immensely in keeping it out of the eyes and other unwanted places. 8)

The last time I had a cut was back in August 2001CE, and that was on the advice of my father (A long serving LuL employee) as I was starting an apprenticeship with LuL ATC Acton that September. I really ought to trim it often I know, but I keep forgetting to have it done - Or simply can't be arsed. :roll:

As my hair stands at the moment it's quite split-ended and messy, and I've been giving some thought to going for a close grade or skinhead, and starting again from square one - Paying attention to keeping it in a much better condition. As everyone is used to seeing me with long hair though, I'd probably hold off having "the chop" until the time of a major charity event, and take the opportunity to generate cash for a good cause at the same time. 8)

Someone said traffic clogging up easily in Lancaster. That also annoys me, got stuck in traffic for nearly 2hrs once coming from campus to city centre because some numpty can't drive and combining that with Lancaster's poor road system and there's chaos.

Someone said traffic clogging up easily in Lancaster. That also annoys me, got stuck in traffic for nearly 2hrs once coming from campus to city centre because some numpty can't drive and combining that with Lancaster's poor road system and there's chaos.

To better that, we once had a Travellers Choice driver to flying. He was going on about his ideas for Lancaster - make the whole one way system one lane with a bus lane. Greyhound Bridge as well.

It should hopefully get a bit better once they put the Heysham bypass in.

Those drivers who think they're going the speed of light but are actually going snails pace annoy me (mostly OAPs, no offence to anyone!) and people who think they're king because they've got a black Mercedes-Benz 4x4 with spinning wheel hubcaps and neons and 270000 exhausts, a massive spoiler, a numberplate in a different font and blacked out brakelights, whereas actually they look like complete w***ers

what irritates me is when people say 'i am thinking of going on the xx.xx train from xxx to xxx' and then ask 'will it be busy? Will it be a long train? Is it direct? Where does it stop at? What time will it stop at stations? will many people get on at the stations?'
and i always think I DONT KNOW!! Yeah I can answer the first fe, but then the rest just take the p*** because its like asking 'What colour will my seat be on a voyager, 'cos I dont like blue, I want red!!'
