That is not a real Wetherspoons, as they don't have any pubs in Spain.
Reminds me of the news story from years ago about a bloke who opened a discount store and called it "'arrods"...
Harrods sent him a cease-and-desist or similar, so he changed the name to "Not 'arrods"!

(assuming it isn't an urban legend of course)

Not as good as the shopkeeper who named his store “Singhsburys”. He was threatened with legal action by the national chain, so changed the name… to “Morrisinghs”. :D

Surprising considering how poor the food and Beer is and how dirty the tables are.
Definitely, while many otherwise excellent pubs neglect their toilets.

And the gaping soulless anonymity of them means there's no-one to notice/care you're using them without buying a drink. Ideal for the caught-short-man-about-town.

I thought that Wetherspoons threw open their toilets to the general public about three or four years ago.

I'm sure it was announced somewhere. May have been announced in their magazine....or perhaps I read it in a CAMRA publication (maybe on CAMRA Discourse?)
I've never heard of that. But nobody would check or stop you from making use of the facilities.

That completely passed me by if they did.

Either way I'd happily use theirs gratis in a way I wouldn't dare in an independent pub.

Perhaps it was the drink and you heard ''Threw up in a Wetherspoons toilet'' which is quite common after eating and drinking at one.

Looks like the Wetherspoons in Leeds station is being gutted out and refurbished, I wonder whatever happened to the roof terrace plan they had a few years ago

Wakefield is also being doubled in size by taking over the former pub building next door to it which hopefully also means a full refurbishment of the venue as it is certainly in desperate need of one!
