Does anyone know if there is a downloadable pub list for UK Wetherspoons? I know years ago they used to do the directory but I gather this is no longer published.
Don't know if this link to their own website is a complete list but certainly looks like all the Scottish ones are there:Does anyone know if there is a downloadable pub list for UK Wetherspoons? I know years ago they used to do the directory but I gather this is no longer published.
Thanks that's great.
Try the above…it’s unofficial and produced by an enthusiast but an excellent and regularly updated work.
That'll teach me to only read the first paragraph - I saw that but ruled it out because of the leading date - 08/12/2003, completely missing mention of Dublin Crosskeys which opened well after 2003 and dates for this year further down. Oops

You’re welcome. As a veteran of 984 Wetherspoons since around 1993 I can vouch for its usefulness! Thanks that's great.
Goodness! How many are there? You’re welcome. As a veteran of 984 Wetherspoons since around 1993 I can vouch for its usefulness!
856 at the moment but many of the ones I scored have closed over the years.Goodness! How many are there?![]()
That's a lot of closures, especially given they have opened a fair few new ones in the last sort of 4-5 years particularly in Ireland.856 at the moment but many of the ones I scored have closed over the years.
267 have closed over the years according to the website highlighted. That's a lot of closures, especially given they have opened a fair few new ones in the last sort of 4-5 years particularly in Ireland.
Each to their own. But if you need an app to find a pub that isn't a Wetherspoons...or you could just visit a decent pubThere is a helpful app called neverspoons.
Didn't realise that, most useful!Their App also allows you to tick them off, you can set it to do it automatically or manually.
Agreedor you could just visit a decent pubThere is a helpful app called neverspoons.
Interesting, I just had a Google! It appears to be primarily aimed at those who misunderstood Tim Martin's message to his staff during Covid....or you could just visit a decent pubThere is a helpful app called neverspoons.
it is a good way to find a proper pub and is good advertising for the publicans. it is useful if in a new town especially if i forgot to check the good beer guide. I never use Weatherspoons: The beer is badly kept and the owner is a total balloon. Each to their own. But if you need an app to find a pub that isn't a Wetherspoons...
It is primarily to point people away from Weatherspoons to decent pubs and in particular small independent ones. Seems fantastic to me. As for Tim Martin:Interesting, I just had a Google! CheersIf you are happy with that crack on and spend your money. I am not.

I would respect Martin more if he came out and said: I thought Brexit would make me more money.People are free to boycott Wetherspoons for this reason of course, but do they seek the political views of the landlord of any other pub that they
choose to visit?
Actions have consequences. His stance on Brexit caused me to think about whether I wanted to frequent his establishment. Once I stepped back I realised there were better options more deserving of my money.I think there is a lot of prejudice against Tim Martin just because of his views on Brexit..
I think there is a lot wrong with Wetherspoons! like I said if you want to spend your money there crack on. I will go elsewhere, get a better pint of ale, a better level of ambience and ( frankly) a better clientele.I think there is nothing wrong with Wetherspoons pubs,
it is rubbish ale. Cheap, but crap.they provide some of the best value beer around at well under £4 a pint,
he is a balloon.Tim Martin has also been very vocal about some of the pointless lockdown restrictions which have hampered the hospitality sector, which is something that many people on this forum would support.

Yet the Weathers always seems to attract the lower quality clientele regardless of where they are situated. ( it may have changed since i stopped going in but I doubt it somehow!)The quality of the clientele in a pub is partly a reflection of the area in which it is situated, not who owns or runs the pub.
Thanks - i havent added them up but it gives a good number to avoid. As a CAMRA member I wish they were more interested in supporting local pubs and less in driving trade to Weatherspoons.213 Wetherspoons pubs are in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 2022. They would not be in there if their ale was "crap".

Witty!Like I said that is cool. I am not having a go at anyone for going in the place ( it isn't like they are selling bombs to the Russians!) but it isn't for me anymore.ersonally I take as I find, the food does the job for me when i'm out and about for the day and i'm not particularly bothered about political views, but as with everything, that's just my opinion.
