And the 70 / 70A to Worst Busi thin
Cant see TM Travel surviving to be honest ,they are already starting to lose tendered work (they lose the M44.M45 and M55 services to newcomers SMT from the end of the month)

Well earlier all the Sixes Volvos were in service, except for 777 and 778, so looking good. I'm sure the Mickleover can manage with 6 buses. Less cost to leave 107/108 parked up.Surprised 107/8 aren't at Derby to cover for 314/5 which are off fairly long term after being involved in accidents. Instead there seems to be no cover, resulting in an inevitable shortage of vehicles and missing services every day.
Are the sixes Volvo's proving more reliable than the Versas?
It's rumoured they might be going onto rushcliffe villager so probably gone away for paint.Surprised 107/8 aren't at Derby to cover for 314/5 which are off fairly long term after being involved in accidents. There's a good chance that they will, with places like Newton expanding in population, extra capacity would definitely be welcome. Also, more of a biased thing, but if 107/8 DO end up being rebranded, then I hope that the "mini bars" are removed/replaced for those wireless charging bays found on later models of MMCs. Their only function these days seem to be to obstruct the view of the passengers towards the rearIt's rumoured they might be going onto rushcliffe villager so probably gone away for paint.
I do believe there was a BR7LE on loan to TM a few weeks back so i'd imagine they're CAZ compliantI am sure some could end up with Notts and Derby. As for TM Travel, 1) are they compliant for Sheffield 2) do they have a use for them and 3) with franchising, will there be a TM Travel?
There not complient, its just that it was used on a route which didn't enter the sheffield clean air zoneI do believe there was a BR7LE on loan to TM a few weeks back so i'd imagine they're CAZ compliant
That would probably be a wise idea given how unreliable and problematic 504-6 seem to be recentlyIt's rumoured they might be going onto rushcliffe villager so probably gone away for paint.
Agreed, not sure what could/would replace 506 however! That would probably be a wise idea given how unreliable and problematic 504-6 seem to be recently
Given its rarely on the road for any considerable amount of time it probably doesn’t need replacingAgreed, not sure what could/would replace 506 however!
Yes, you'd think two reliable buses could replace three rather unreliable onesGiven its rarely on the road for any considerable amount of time it probably doesn’t need replacing
Indeed Volvo 740 was on loan. Used on the 26/26A service in and around Crystal Peaks, where CAZ isn't relevantI do believe there was a BR7LE on loan to TM a few weeks back so i'd imagine they're CAZ compliant
Well it's now down the side of A garage.Does anyone know why TM Travel Scania 662 was in Derby bus station this evening?
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been replaced at TM now the two Streetlites are in use.Well it's now down the side of A garage.
Coach 74 seems to have moved from the back of A garage tooWell it's now down the side of A garage.
It is worth noting that whilst TM has lost some evening and Sunday work plus the Crystal Peaks minibuses, elsewhere it has gained with additional early morning, late evening and Sunday journeys added to some existing tenders such as the 30a, 31, 32 and 71.Only the evening & Sunday 70a go to First, TM retains the 70, same with the 9/9a with TM retaining the 9 & First running the 9a
Ambergate Carnival, Belper Market Place etc. Looks like Solo 478 is keeping it company.777 hiding in Belper garage this lunchtime!
As will a fair few of the displaced Comet / Swift Volvos in time.i heard 725 has been sent away for conversion to a driver trainer…
Nice vehicle to learn on. A long way from double de clutching days!!!As will a fair few of the displaced Comet / Swift Volvos in time.
When I first got to drive a bus, it was an AEC Renown, with no power steering and a manual gearbox. As will a fair few of the displaced Comet / Swift Volvos in time.
I'm still happy that I passed my bus test in a PaladinNice vehicle to learn on. A long way from double de clutching days!!!
Mine was in a Blue Bus Dennis Loline and it was a pig. Heavy steering sluggish and long slow de clutching gear change. The cvg6 was a delight afterwards. Considering it was a Bristol Lodekka built under licence the Lodekkas I drove later were much more manageable. AECs were lovely to drive. Enough of this nostalgia modern Volvos and Scanias are a delight to driveWhen I first got to drive a bus, it was an AEC Renown, with no power steering and a manual gearbox.
I thought Derby was short of buses? As will a fair few of the displaced Comet / Swift Volvos in time.
They are but 10 or so optare versas are displacing 8 volvos (5 swift, 3 comet) and 2 optare solo SRs (2 harlequin) so nothing is being affected numbers wiseI thought Derby was short of buses?
I guess that is only 4 branded Swift Volvos, given what happened to 737.They are but 10 or so optare versas are displacing 8 volvos (5 swift, 3 comet) and 2 optare solo SRs (2 harlequin) so nothing is being affected numbers wise
A couple of Volvos on loan to Derby today, it would seem. 715 and 723.I thought Derby was short of buses?
I had completely forgotten about 737, wasn't this the volvo that succumbed to an engine fire? Still though, there are 5 buses displacing "5" other ones (albeit one is probably in a scrapyard)I guess that is only 4 branded Swift Volvos, given what happened to 737.
