*roll up, roll up for the wonderful tour of Derby, abandoned buildings, dodgy vape shops, crackheads & chavs... sounds delightfulI almost thought you meant the Reading Wrightbus that went under the low bridge. Open top tours of Derby.

Comparing to Kinch's skylink 25 plate ADLs, dare I say (obviously discounting RTCs) the Yutongs have been off of the road a fair amount less than them! You are correct to an extent but when it comes to derby depots bus shortage and the fact that the coaches are 25 plates gives (I think) a valid reason to ask
Slightly unfair comparison when you look at the nature of the work that they doComparing to Kinch's skylink 25 plate ADLs, dare I say (obviously discounting RTCs) the Yutongs have been off of the road a fair amount less than them!
Good point.... the problem with red arrow is that their Flixbus operations seem to override the needs of red arrow (so 910 will appear on Flixbus routes first if there are any problems). Although 1 coach being off isn't the greatest of deals, I remember we were at a point where 1 or 2 Elites were out at once a couple of years back!Slightly unfair comparison when you look at the nature of the work that they do
Quite sensibly - you can't run a Versa on a Flixbus run to London but it is perfectly within its capabilities to run an express to Nottingham (at least occasionally).Good point.... the problem with red arrow is that their Flixbus operations seem to override the needs of red arrow (so 910 will appear on Flixbus routes first if there are any problems). One of two Elites off? Blimey, I could walk past Meadow Road and see six of them off.Good point.... the problem with red arrow is that their Flixbus operations seem to override the needs of red arrow (so 910 will appear on Flixbus routes first if there are any problems). Saw it earlier on a 2, looks very smart. After the last few years of making do and mend with loan vehicles and so on it is nice to see some brand new buses other than on the Skylink again.Seems like the E12s are gradually rolling out, 3205 is now tracking.
Or even when they had to use 462 on it...Good point.... the problem with red arrow is that their Flixbus operations seem to override the needs of red arrow (so 910 will appear on Flixbus routes first if there are any problems). Given so many of those are still in service today, and those due should arrive shortly, I am minded to disagree.
Definitely is nice and hopefully will restore some of the confidence in buses actually turning up.Saw it earlier on a 2, looks very smart. After the last few years of making do and mend with loan vehicles and so on it is nice to see some brand new buses other than on the Skylink again.
In the internal comms a launch event was mentionedDefinitely is nice and hopefully will restore some of the confidence in buses actually turning up.
I wonder if they are planning a launch event of some sorts for them...
Also not sure how true it is. The Red Arrow coaches have at least one out of service every day whereas it is far from irregular for all 18 of the 25 reg E200MMCs to be in service at Kinch. Whilst there is the occasional day like today where an older spare is required on Skylink it is far more common for 346 and 347 to be required on other services.Slightly unfair comparison when you look at the nature of the work that they do
The joys of 10 branded Red Arrow coaches for a PVR of 9.. Always one spare or for maintenanceAlso not sure how true it is. One or two Elites out in service, I meant (apologies for any misunderstanding). One of two Elites off? Blimey, I could walk past Meadow Road and see six of them off.
Hence why they foresaw this and ordered 10 branded vehicles and a generic black spare for a route with a PVR of 9!Also not sure how true it is. If anything, it would be a good thing for those vehicles to stretch their legs every once in a while!Quite sensibly - you can't run a Versa on a Flixbus run to London but it is perfectly within its capabilities to run an express to Nottingham (at least occasionally).
I wasn’t suggesting that the GT12s were unreliable or performing differently to expected but simply stating the belief that they were performing better than the 2025 E200MMCs didn’t appear to be true. Given the Red Arrow uses a completely different type of vehicle than the other services operated out of Derby it makes sense to have a dedicated spare in a way that rarely makes sense on other routes but at the same time the expectation on other routes is that generic spares will be used frequently so to see an unbranded vehicle on other routes should not be a sign that that routes vehicles are underperforming.Hence why they foresaw this and ordered 10 branded vehicles and a generic black spare for a route with a PVR of 9!
It'll be the Caetano Hydrogen bus that's been loaned a handful of times, the registration is H2 CBUDriving past the Notts & Derby depot this evening there looked like an electric demonstrator in the yard. Is that right? I couldn't tell which make it was. Are Trent/Notts & Derby trialling it, or is it just passing through?
That route certainly takes it out of the buses.Kinchs Skylinks taking a hit today with both 107 and 714 helping out as well as 346/347
