724 now back out from its stint at ESU sporting new trentbarton vinyls, in place of the defunct trentbarton live ones.

277 is now back at Sutton where it will cover for 2 vehicles as they go back to ADL for some work to be carried out. I am told that after this its time with the company should come to an end.

Looks like 277 came off at Sutton on the way back from Mansfield, with 258 tracking from there.

It did, it was only sent out to cover a breakdown in the first place. As of yesterday the plan was to use it as a last resort basis, so let's see if it pans out that way. (277 that is)

Sadly it’s a bit of a downgrade from a B8 to a rattly 200MMC. I doubt we will see a B8 other than 780 on the sixes until at least late January.
The Ex Skylink MMC’s now on the Two spent early August to mid December off the road, so it could be another 4-5 months for the B8’s if they are being repainted and refurbished for the Sixes. My guess would be at the earliest March/April time for the B8’s entering traffic, of course it may depend on any other mechanical work that needs doing to them.

There's a plethora of things to do in the background: timetable work, heating being worked on the buses, marketing campaigns,'livery design to be finalised, mechanical overhauls etc, it will be a way off yet, believe these will be heading away for refurb.

I'd say nearer September 2027 at least for them Volvos on the Sixes. Don't forget, that even overhauled, they will need to stand for a couple of months, then be available for use as grottos etc. Until that time, the Sixes will be fine with the Solos and Versas and CWT will get very rich and be able to afford a new tow truck. All good for EMR too, on their Matlock trains. Sorry, I did mean September 2026 (I think).
Yes I thought so, it was ‘at the earliest’ going off the time period which the Ex Skylink MMC’s were off before they entered service on the Two. I can understand there may be a longer wait with the branding and mechanical overhauls being 10 years old. I’m aware the B8’s were new for the Two, would this be their first mid life refurb?
Volvo B8 771 has been tracking on the Two this morning, possibly in place for E200MMC 150 which is the last awaiting to re emerge back in service.
The only long term VOR for the Sixes Versas at the moment is 839 but there’s a handful of others out of use more recently going off bus times data.
it was 151, the ticket machines have now been swapped and tracking correctly..
845 would also be considering it got badly damaged in a crash the other week on the 6x

How bad is 845? From the sound of it, the only way the car was stopping, was hitting the bus. The Versas are integrals, so if it bent the frame, it might be terminal. I can't recall the last time I saw 839 anywhere other than the top of A garage. It is as if the face on the back is etched in my brain.
Having seen the bus myself I reckon it'll be written off, but obviously that's only my opinion and it could well be repaired

Is it bad then? It seemed like a high speed crash (well by the car). Optares are integrals , rather than body on a chassis. Might be bent. I guess with Volvos going on the Sixes soon, it might be surplus. Maybe 147 will cover it.
Its relatively bad, ive seen worse repaired but also seen vehicles with similar damage scrapped, wonder if any scrap versas elsewhere might be sourced again, wasn't it 841 which had a major RTC about a year or 2 ago & was repaired using a Ex Manchester Airport hybrid, sure that was also the one which 804 was fixed using.

I remember 836 meeting a van , head on, in Duffield.. Now if the van had been on the correct side of the road. At the end of the day, 845 is 11/12 years old. Maybe a short term loan of an Volvo EvoRa is the best solution, so we can see how good they really are.
