funny thing is the work they are doing is on a side road off the island.... dosent help that BT while doing there work hit a water main....BIG "NOT". These 4 way TTLs cause chaos. There must be a better way.
I know all about water mains. Had a project at York. Many utilities were not where maps said they were.funny thing is the work they are doing is on a side road off the island.... dosent help that BT while doing there work hit a water main....
I had it last night, it struggled just going up Burton Road.827 got taken off due to low power....
yea i had to take it down to depot after it was run off... its slower than the last time i drove it and it struggled to get out the bus station and onto the ring road so complete shed that thing is lolI had it last night, it struggled just going up Burton Road.
I imagine, had it not been for COVID etc, it would have been replaced. Of course, it is currently a longer drive to the depot now, via the Pentagon. One day, Meadow Road may be two way again..yea i had to take it down to depot after it was run off... its slower than the last time i drove it and it struggled to get out the bus station and onto the ring road so complete shed that thing is lol
In our dreams Meadow Road will be 2 way again ahahaI imagine, had it not been for COVID etc, it would have been replaced. Of course, it is currently a longer drive to the depot now, via the Pentagon. One day, Meadow Road may be two way again..
Could be worse. Imagine if it was one way, but in the other direction. In our dreams Meadow Road will be 2 way again ahaha
well it would be easier.. nothing could leave the depot as we would be stuck lol unless they did what they done during the floods and make the slip road a temp two way with traffic lights...Could be worse. Imagine if it was one way, but in the other direction.
Fun turning one of the tri axle Red Arrow coaches back then. I wonder what they will do with all that space at Meadow Road now.well it would be easier.. nothing could leave the depot as we would be stuck lol unless they did what they done during the floods and make the slip road a temp two way with traffic lights...
Hardly an extension, although at that point you may as well just finish the job and extend it to Holywell Park! You got any links to this, as I am unable to find any data suggesting that it has been extended..
Engine management and emissions light on? Could be in what's called threshold two mode or be the turbo boost pipe. 818 has just had the same thing issue which everyone believed to be the gearbox (as previously stated it has a different gearbox to the others) and it turned out to be turbo boost, one new pipe later and it now is the quickest and best one out of the lot.I had it last night, it struggled just going up Burton Road.
827 has always been slow since we got it but this time it seems to be fuel injector related but knowing 827 it won't be long til it goes dead slow again ahahaEngine management and emissions light on? It did have its issues whilst here... I remember bringing the whole of Hucknall Road to a standstill when it decided to breakdown on the left turn off Mansfield Road.827 has always been slow since we got it but this time it seems to be fuel injector related but knowing 827 it won't be long til it goes dead slow again ahaha
I had to go to the Royal Hospital, two days in the trot. Three of the four journeys were three different Notts and Derby Versas. One seemed very different to the others. That said, the Centros were far better. It did have its issues whilst here... It did gain a new engine before repaint though so that calmed it down a lot!
How do notts + derby get on with their Versas?
But Derby depot is making good use of Mango spares Solo SR 503 and Volvo 714.Not quite the full service by my reckoning. On Monday there were gaps in both 5 and 12.
On 5, the 13:45 High St - Ravensthorpe Dr loop did not happen. Solo 478 was apparently on High St at 13:39 but went nowhere. At 14:11 it moved round to Swan St to run the 14:15 loop to Allendale Rd.
478 gave further bother last night when it failed on 12 shortly after leaving High St on the 20:30 High St - Thorpe Acre loop. The bus only made it to Derby Rd - alongside the canal basin - and the rest of the loop did not happen.. Sprint 4 was brought in as a substitute as from 21:00
On 12, Versa 830 gave up the ghost on Monday just after 17:00, while running the 16:25 from High St - Thorpe Acre. It was already 25 minutes late, when a diversion to the depot apparently became necessary.
In consequence 12 ran with just one vehicle until 17:32 when replacement 501 stepped in, picking up the threads from Braddon Rd.
Is 'full service' perhaps a rather slippery concept? Is what a depot manager calls a 'full service' the same as what the average passenger expects? The manager might feel all is well if the scheduled buses and drivers are all on the road. But if delays are also occurring, the public may not. A promised ten-minute service, having huge gaps of 30 or so minutes, is unlikely to seem like a 'full service'. In respect of Kinch's town services, Monday evening didn't deliver the 'full service' at all : certainly not a 12 from Swan St to my nearest stop between 16:24 and 17:30.
'Apparently', going off bustimes I'm assuming, so if this is the case I can only assume maybe a driver didn't show up for the loop round Ravensthorpe Drive if it appeared to run the next service around Allendale Road.Solo 478 was apparently on High St at 13:39 but went nowhere.
On the contrary, while yes the loop around Thorpe Acre wasn't completed (after all, a bus fault just happens as and when, and can't be forseen), it's good to see that it was imminently replaced by Swan Street, so minimal service was dropped.478 gave further bother last night when it failed on 12 shortly after leaving High St on the 20:30 High St - Thorpe Acre loop. In all honesty, I don't know about you, but I'd rather a bus be off but being repaired rather than it running potentially illegally (however, if that isn't what the other people of Loughborough want then it's nothing they aren't used to anyway)! On 12, Versa 830 gave up the ghost on Monday just after 17:00, while running the 16:25 from High St - Thorpe Acre. Now I recall when the Optare Solo was first planned (for Wilts and Dorset), it had a design life of 14 years. So , in a perfect world (not affected by the COVID crash in usage), I would have thought all Optares 12 plate and older, would have either been withdrawn or about to be in 2026. I suspect many will carry on for another 4 years. Does anyone know when the first Yutongs are due to arrive from Pelican, Castleford? Seems an age ago, someone saw them heading up there.'Apparently', going off bustimes I'm assuming, so if this is the case I can only assume maybe a driver didn't show up for the loop round Ravensthorpe Drive if it appeared to run the next service around Allendale Road.

All of this should ideally (and hopefully) be ironed out when the Optare products (which aren't exactly known for their reliability on the whole in the UK bus scene) are phased out of their operation at the beginning of next year, although saying that doesn't mean buses won't still be taken back to the depot/skip one loop due to unforeseen faults and extreme delays!

I think most likely teething issues when switching from AeSys to Hanover, which I did notice as Michael's voice seemed to play at the wrong time when I first took them in august.A quick question : why are the next stop announcements (and displays) so erratic on the batch of Skylink Derby buses?
Seem to be doing better than ours to a point.... would you like 824 and 827 back...It did have its issues whilst here... I remember bringing the whole of Hucknall Road to a standstill when it decided to breakdown on the left turn off Mansfield Road.

Given what a certain driver said about them on this post, I doubt the scrap man would take them. I see the lightning ⚡ bus, 267 came out of service earlier. Maybe it didn't like the rain.Seem to be doing better than ours to a point.... would you like 824 and 827 back...![]()
There was a swap around so 503 could cover the lsat comet as the traffic again ment the bus and driver (Not me tonight!) intened to do it were stuck further north. In theory aso means 503 has returned to kinch 714 should follow tomorrowGiven what a certain driver said about them on this post, I doubt the scrap man would take them. Well it's very broken at the moment so no use to anyone ahahaThanks for the offer..... 780 on the other hand...
The earlier B8's seem to struggle hugely with reliability, good luck to the sixes...Well it's very broken at the moment so no use to anyone ahaha
Nearly missed 780 in A garage, at Derby, amongst all the Sixes Versas. I wonder if 845 is in there too?Well it's very broken at the moment so no use to anyone ahaha
714 has certainly gone back. I nearly had a ride on it when it was in Derby.
