It would appear that Trent have emerged victorious in the X38 Derby - Burton situation…..

Revisions from 30th August by Arriva.

From here …..

X38 Derby to Burton on Trent
Buses will now run up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday to reflect customer demand.

Most journeys will continue beyond Derby Bus Station to Chaddesden & Spondon as routes 20 & 21.

There will be no Sunday timetable due to very low usage.”

You never know, Trentbarton might also reduce their timetable.

Now i've just seen a photo of the 20 plate skylinks now at Langley Mill. Does anyone know what the plan is going forward for these vehicles?

They wouldn't need all of them for the two as the two is only a pvr of 10 buses

If they are destined for the two likely that some will become spares unless there are other routes that only require a pvr of two to upgrade as well? Would be surprised if 128 doesnt go back to nottingham skylink so that leaves the 12 20 plates.

Maybe something like rushcliffe villager or harlequin will benefit given they seem to be trying to get shift of the solos

I'm sure I seen a comment mentioning 128 was going back to Notts Skylink.

If the rest do go onto the two that would leave two(?) spare buses that could ideally replace the cotgrave bus that caught fire and release 726 off the keyworth to give a standardised fleet to the route.

I saw a post on FB earlier mainly about 175 to which I nearly had an aneurism trying to read it and the comments. Nothing has been announced or officially confirmed but.
The most widely spread theory at the moment is adls to the two. B8s to the sixes. Which is of course all a rumour at the moment and I’ll only believe it when I see the busses painted. Then there has been discussion in various groups about the 64 plate versas being refurbished for the my15

Added to that is what I could foresee should the above actually happen which I think the likely outcome for the 11 plate versas being red spares or to ND and the solos being parted out as we saw with two of the ex royal derby vehicles as they’re slowly being replaced ie last year with eclipses.

I think it’s confirmed that 128 will return as a blue Skylink?

Then for the extra 2 vehicles one is needed for the cottsgrave and as for the last potential the keyworth or as a spare to replace 216 which has been indigo branded?

Of course it’s all rumours and I’ll believe what I see when it’s announced and the busses are painted. As for the mango spares that have been on the Skylink I believe they’re returning as spares however might stay a bit longer to cover for the missed services that Kinch have been experiencing due to busses being off the road.

We’re all of the 20 plates there or are some still at Kinch to save space or have been sent off for refurbishment already?

Amusingly, it's only now that someone has designed a proper livery for the Plaxton Elites on the Red Arrow on Bustimes!

It seems that Kinchbus would rather use an entire contingent of spare buses on the 11/12 than use their branded Optare Versas. The only branded Versa in service today is being used on the 2/3!

Speaking of red arrow, I did actually take the new Yutongs today. They are decent vehicles to ride.

Don’t look too bad and comments seem to be better compared to the Plaxtons

Didn’t realise they had gone with a dedicated spare in RA livery, assumed it was the grey spare that’s loitering around

For the 2, I don't think I have seen anything other than a Solo/Versa on it so that could be a factor?

Must say, got the USB C (Even plug sockets) and the announcements are back after so many years without them since the removal of the INIT EvendPC2 machines, this time, James is the voice.
