In my opinion, its really not, the only people ive really seen speculating is enthusiasts and not drivers. Not to mention on bustimes part of the mickleover fleet and 110 (for some reason) got changed to calverton livery when they had only been off the road for a day or two. Theres about ten different places ive seen people saying they could go, when no doubt they will probably end up somewhere completely different to what most people are speculating. I'd say just wait and see, they will most likely be the top of the priority list be repainted so no doubt it'll be evident soon enough

The best time to say when a bus (or batch thereof) is repainted /rebranded is when a picture of it is posted...

I always think sometimes it can be worth remembering that replaced buses don’t necessarily get put on new routes. Sometimes they become spares too…

Talking of x38, I noticed earlier most of the x38 stops had trentbartons new x38 logo on with their timetables too. Something arriva is yet to do...

As well, ive seen arriva being quite late on there parts of the route. Over the bank holiday weekend (both sunday and monday) they were relatively late at times. As well earlier I saw them driving right behind a trents x38 because it was over 20 minutes late. So much for Arriva "being the reliable company on the route" now...

I was on the bus when i saw it so i didn't manage to see the exact date they are effective from, just that they were there in the new style and times

I travelled to Burton on a Trent X38 on Tuesday and the driver was giving a leaflet to all passengers detailing the changes, stating they start on 31 Aug.

Arriva have put a timetable case with the new timetable displayed on the pole by the X38 bay on Victoria Street, Derby. Trent have put a similar timetable case on the opposite side of the pole but no timetable in it as yet.
As from next week, Trent's X38 will depart from stop C9 on Corporation Street, Derby, the same stop as 'The Allestree' service and will also pick up in Victoria Street.
This could be a smart move; whenever the timetable goes up the creek, Trent could watch for the Arriva X38 coming along The Morledge and depart just in front of it!

But the Trentbarton website now says 7th September. So maybe all the TB timetables will get taken away. Of course, if a TB were to leave early, just to get in front of Arriva, the Traffic Commissioner might jump up.and down on them. I guess the big unknown will be, will anyone be waiting for the X38 in Victoria Street for it after today. I sure won't be.

We'll be running a brand new timetable with buses every 15 minutes non-stop between Derby and Burton from 7 Sept.


From 31 Aug we will be honouring the timetable and all existing X38 tickets.


All journeys on trentbarton X38 will be free until 7 Sept.

Ah, not to mention what they were like last Sunday. The arriva vehicle on it was running 5-15 minutes late whereas the trent vehicle was almost catching up, even running 5 minutes early at times. I am not sure if the arriva driver waited out of spite and waiting until just before the trentbarton bus was due, or was just genuinely picking up a lot of passengers.

Interesting last Sunday, Arriva showed as using double decker 4544... I'd have expected a single decker . Wonder if the top speed of an Enviro 400MMC matches that of a single decker. You can see the bus go 10 minutes late around 13.00...With a 30 run time, you sure aren't going to make that up.

Same today though, their bus seemed to get late around 12pm. Sure your not going to catch it up but if your trying to show your passengers you should be the choice of company on the route you would think they would put an extra bus to take over the delayed bus. Especially since they have 2 extra busses as they transfered the extra 2 pulsars ready for the frequency increase

Maybe that will be easier to do at the bus station.. There seems to be suggestions of hold ups due to works at Toyota Island. Doubt Burton gets any easier. Maybe parents taking kids to get stuff from town to be ready for schools going back? Or just everyone wanted to go out

Im assuming n+d's runs will be paid fare (and would mango be accepted/zigzags.)? Will they be running the night service too? The old timetable and the new one do have the same night service or very similar so will it also be free?

Dread to think what would happen if Arrivas, Notts and derbys and trentbartons x38 ran journeys all got to burton market place at the same time. Add a v3 bus along with it and it would get very crowded. Was bad enough the other week with 492 broken down on the stand with busses having to reverse to get off the stand!

Gives Derby City Council an opportunity to ban buses through Albert Street.. After all, with all those long lasting road works and diesel fumes. Then the dumper trucks will struggle to come wrong way, to attend said works. Then pedestrianise all of Derby

First day of the changes, one of the ex H1s has conked out with 846 replacing it, notts+derby are running a solo & Mini ADL on the route & nothing from wellglade is tracking… farce.

Where as Arriva everything is tracking, going smoothly other than some delays due to the A50 bridge works on the A38.

The ticket machines are only showing the previous trip apparently. Not really something they can solve but are trying to fix it!

Also from what I've seen there is alot more passengers getting on trentbartons runs than arrivas

As well its nice that trent are even offering to run the service early and for free. They didn't need to do it but have chosen too so there's not really any point to complain especially when it's free

I'm not sure that they intended to run it free for a week from the outset. Must be costing a bit running 7 buses free for a week. Guess it draws attention to it, not sure it creates a really good impression though.

If Trentbarton are not taking fares, then the ticket machines don't really need to be switched on, so the ticket machines are switched off, causing the tracking outage.
