As above there is NO First ScotRail service from Carlisle to Newcastle, or vice versa. A through train yes, but operated by Northern Ncl-Car. The only thing that stays is the rail vehicle, normally. I have had the misfortune to travel on one of the Glasgow to Newcastle services, from Dumfries, only to be routed into the north facing bay at Carlisle and then have to walk to the south bays to board a Northern monstrosity (sorry Pacer) for a rattle, sore backside, and ear bashing home. I look for the Newcastle/Glasgow, or vice versa, services for a nice, clean, train journey whenever I can. I wonder what the Northern staff make if the 156s with clean windows and interiors? Do they ever tell their managers about the difference? Please let Northern go and the long suffering Northern customers off the hook, what have we done to deserve them?
