Well, TBH, in February 2007 thanks to my trip up the ECML being caped due to bad weather I ended up on the 1925 STP - LDS, traction being provided by 43049 'Neville Hill' and 43072 'Derby Etches Park'. Later on during the journey I was near 072 and as we left Chesterfield, I could have sworn she sounded like a Valenta!![]()
well they are manufactured both by Paxman, so that'll have something to do with it, cos MTUs of course are Brush. It's like 465 networkers sound different, dependent on if they have ABB or GEC motors, GEC ones are generally louder, and sound really high when they start
