I'd argue that the bloke who was in the job for two years holds more responsibility than the woman who was only there for six weeks. Whilst it's fair to take anything any politician says with a large pinch of salt, there's definitely a case that Truss's premiership was sabotaged from day one. As for saying she "believes in what gets her the biggest benefits", that is the case for every politician of every party to some extent.I agree one shouldn't go down the road of judging mental health/ability unless one is a professional in that field. I would say Truss isn't insane, but "believes" in what gets her the biggest benefits. However, she is arguably the biggest reason the Tories are widely predicted to be thrashed in this election, so if I was you, or anyone else sympathetic to the Tories, I would not be defending her an iota.
Yes, I know, I'm somehow defending Liz Truss here for some reason, but only from the perspective of looking past the "memes" about lettuces. As far as her mental capacities are concerned, I've seen some commentators suggest that perhaps she's on the autism spectrum. I'm not qualified to make such a judgement, but it speaks volumes that some feel that's an acceptable point of criticism for someone on the opposing side of the political aisle.
