Italy were utterly superb in that first half and the start of the second half. If only Immobiledidn't have a bad game they would have been out of sight. Spinazzola I think has been the player of the tournament so far, such a shame for him to get injured and likely to be out of the euro.

I though Belguim hadn't been particularly good so far and were lucky to beat Portugal and weren't great in the group stages, so Italy defintley deserved to go through.

Italy vs Spain should be a really interesting game.

Tomorrow’s match is not going to be easy. It’ll be a niggly, bad tempered, take it to the brink, gamesmanship, nil atmosphere, dive fest in my opinion.
I think it’ll be a difficult watch to be honest. But hopefully we’ll find a way through it. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a sending off too, although I don’t which side…

It got pretty pathetic at times though. I'm absolutely in favour of multiple bookings being given for such antics. Hell I'd argue even the Italy goal should have been disallowed for a yellow card and Belgium free kick for simulation (Immobile rolling around on the floor trying trying convince the ref he should get a pen but then leaping to his feet as soon as the ball is in the net). Sure every team dives and time wastes to some extent but I think Italy last night went beyond what should be acceptable.

Indeed it is time to make the case that in those cases where what appears to be "extreme agony simulation" occurs, the referee should have the power to have the player removed from the field of play to protect the player concerned for their own well-being and time to rest or taken to hospital if something medically dramatic had actually occurred and not to allow the player to take any further part in the match.
