Which services on the network are two hourly, or less?

Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven, Heart of Wales, Conwy Valley, Fishguard Harbour, Whitby, Far North, Kyle of Lochash, West Highland Line, Inverness - Aberdeen*, Newquay Line, Darlington - Bishop Auckland*, Settle & Carlisle, Morecambe - Leeds, Cardiff - Holyhead

(* with peak time extras)

(Probably not all of them, but they are the ones which are coming to my head at the moment)

I was under the impression that it was just the Preston - Colne part which was 2 hourly on Sundays, with the Blackpool South - Preston part being hourly, at least in the summer months.

Weymouth to Bristol/Gloucester is also 2 hourly (well iirc there is a 1 hour gap in the evening but that precedes a 3 hour gap)

As I skimmed that I thought just for a split second "surely there's not a regular service between Pembroke Dock and Whitby"!?

I was under the impression that it was just the Preston - Colne part which was 2 hourly on Sundays, with the Blackpool South - Preston part being hourly, at least in the summer months.

A quick check on RTT reveals that you are indeed correct, my mistake.

Weymouth line services are not two hourly - they are all over the place. Only two gaps are approx 2 hours.

West Highland isn't 2 hourly either, there's a huge 4 hour+ gap in the afternoon 1221 to 1637 ex Q St. And the second is Oban only, the next Fort Bill after the 1221 doesn't go till 1821, so it definitely does fall into the 'less' category.

Quite a few locations on the network which only see a few London services each day, off the top of my head:

Lincoln - Kings Cross
Shrewsbury - Euston
Blackpool - Euston
Hereford - Paddington
Harrogate - Kings Cross

The Hope Valley stopper for most of the day.

Leamington Spa to Stratford upon Avon for most of the day. Sometimes it's quicker to change at Dorridge/Solihull and double back for a couple of miles on the London Midland service from Birmingham to Stratford. Often at Marylebone announcements are made ahead of the Birmingham services giving advice whether to connect on the LMS - SAV or the BMO - SAV services for passengers who are heading from London to Stratford upon Avon.

There is a two and a half hour gap between Clapham Junction and Liss; Liphook; Petersfield or Rowlands Castle in the evening peak. After the 16.52, the next service isn't until 19.22.

To that one use to be able to add all the stations between Guildford and Haslemere but they recently created an 18.24 departure from Clapham Junction to Haslemere, which now saves one 52 minutes if hypothetically one only traveles on direct services. As if one would actually do that but this is trivia.

Of course other journey opportunities are avilanle by changing trains but I'm assuming you are purely looking at direct trains rather than services where you need to change.

Glasgow Central - Newcastle via Kilmarnock & Carlisle definitely counts and then some, with roughly 4-5 hours separating the three weekday Newcastle-bound departures off GLC, these leaving at 07:09 (1E95), 12:13 (1E76) & 16:13 (1E97).

The East Suffolk is still 2-hourly on Sundays bar for the additional late afternoon return extra introduced last year & fitting uncomfortably into the timetable. This route is expected to go hourly from lunchtime on a Sunday by 2020.

They're mainly extensions of the Westbury to Gloucester corridor which is usually every hour.

These aren't less than two hourly. These are 2 hourly.

Other than in the morning, where 2x 'peak' services are spaced about an hour apart, the line between Grimsby and Lincoln is roughly every 2-2.5 hours.
