Not quite what the op means but I seem to recall Windermere having a through train once
Stourbridge Town also had a through train once.....

Dore & Totley has another. The East Midlands 17.31 splits at Nottingham. Front half from Sheffield (rear half from Liverpool to Dore!) goes on to Norwich and rear half is bookable through to Worksop. There is no through service from Worksop.
This one-off is shared with all station calls from Liverpool to Nottingham.
Northern services from Southport mostly go via Rochdale & Todmorden to either Leeds or Blackburn. Other trains go via Oxford Rd to Alderley Edge. One train per day runs to Stalybridge, with no reverse working.
One per day Buxton to Manchester Victoria via the Ordsall Curve. No reverse working.
On Merseyrail's Wirral Line, almost every train around the Liverpool Loop religiously goes back onto the line from which it came at Hamilton Square (even if one or two do stop or start short at Hooton or Birkenhead Central). Except one per day Chester to Birkenhead North which swaps main branches at Birkenhead.
[EDIT] Pedants may note the last Ellesmere Port to Liverpool service goes around the Loop then out of service at Hamilton Square platform 3 (the WK / NB platform), rather than p.2 (for EP / CH).
For many years there used to be one train per day from Wigan North Western to Liverpool Lime St going all stations via Newton-le-Willows instead of St Helens Central, with no reverse working. This is no-longer a candidate since there are now 2 tpd WGN to LIV via Newton-le-Willows and a single train in the LIV to WGN direction.

It's an error. Sometimes it appears on the screens and sometimes it doesn't. For some reason the rear portion is programmed in to divide rather than just form it's next working, presumably because it doesn't shunt. It's not mentioned in the printed timetable. In practice the passengers are kicked off when it splits and it's not at all unusual for a different unit to be used and the rear portion of 1L14 to disappear to the depot.
It's quite annoying because unless you happen to look at the station screens it doesn't appear in any of the staff or internal documentation so people will ask about it and you'll have no idea what they're on about.
When I lived in Tamar Valley (nearest stop was Bere Ferrer's), there was one late evening service that continued from Plymouth through to Exeter St David's. I believe that still happens. In addition there was one train a day that goes from Gunnislake to Liskeard via Plymouth, turning around at Plymouth, much like Exmouth-Paignton trains do at St David's. I think there was (probably still is) a Liskeard-Gunnislake return as well.
The through fare doesn't exist, which is a shame. I tried when I visited Ferry Road, but I was given a big error message by every ticketing site I used. That calls at both St Budeaux stations, which is a rarity. I don’t think a through fare exists. Although, in reality, you’d only undertake the journey for novelty value.
Longport is only served by Northern towards Manchester. Travelling back I assume you'd change at Kidsgrove.
Your post has reminded me of the 7:39 from Farnham.Esher has one through train a day to Basingstoke at 18.52 and two to Portsmouth Harbour, the the 05.30 and the 05.48.
yeah, i have walked it quicker from Kidsgrove to Longport, rather than wait for the connection. I don't know what TOCs have against Longport. Quite a few houses within an easy walk. Local Beauty spot "Westport Lake" only a short walk away. It is next to A500 and the closest station to Newcastle Under Lyme, yet all bar EMT shun it, when the potential is large. The connection doesn't meet, change at Stoke. (xx35 VT or xx27 XC from Piccadilly both have a decent connection at Stoke.)

No return as the 158 from Crewe in the morning goes to Eastcroft Depot after arriving in Nottingham. The same could be said for the 1452 from Liverpool which divides at Nottingham for WorksopThe EM 1352 Liverpool- Norwich is shown as dividing at Nottingham with a portion going all stations to Derby. Not sure there is a return working
To reciprocate, your post has reminded me that there used to be a fairly regular service in the peak hours from Esher to Chertsey (and presumably on to Virginia Water and then maybe back to Waterloo). Does this still run ie is it still possible to travel from london to Addlestone/Chertsey via Surbiton?Your post has reminded me of the 7:39 from Farnham.
For Farnham, Aldershot, Ash Vale and Brookwood, they have a once a day service to:
Byfleet and New Haw
Esher
Hersham
This is in the up direction only.
For the stations, Weybridge and Walton-on Thames it's once a day Monday to Friday but more regular on Sundays so they don't count.
