Pax getting off at Bristol TM from London trains that stop way out by the ruined GPO building (13 I think) and want to get a local from Platform 1 to, say, Clifton, would feel they have been on safari.

Coach A on Platform 2 at Tamworth (low level Up Slow) to the exit is a hike, worse if you need to use the lift London end of the Platform. In fact Platform 2 to Platform 3 (High Level Derby platform) if you need the lift is worse, three lifts I believe.

Walsall getting from the Northbound platform to the other platforms involves a detour,

New Street although not distance wise but use the wrong stairs then you need to go through 2 sets of ticket barriers to get between platforms.

Moorfields (Liverpool). It is a long way between the Northern line & Wirral line platforms.

Long Eaton always seemed a long way if I was going to catch the Class 20s on the Skegness - Derby service, and the train from Derby to Long Eaton was a bit late.

Preston, when they announce a last minute platform alteration from the north end of platform 2 to the south end bays (3c or 4c).

The new Doncaster platform!

The walk from 0 to 5 is quite lengthy... Along p0, up the stairs, along a not short footbridge, down the stairs, along p3b, down the stairs, through the subway, back up the stairs, and along p4. I timed a 'sensible' pace walk at 5.5 minutes.

London, Surrey... bit of a blur round here...
Liskeard been mentioned yet?

That said, all things are relative... it seems far as you have to walk out the station to get to the Looe platform, but if it were a larger station, or you were the wrong end of the platform getting off a HST anywhere, that would be further...

P1 to P7 at Perth is a long and gloomy trudge on a winters day.

Platform 3 at Shrewsbury. From the other platforms one has to go out through the gateline outside the station and back in another entrance and up the flight of stairs. In the rationalisation mad days, the platform was taken out of use but as passenger numbers and train services increased it had to be re-instated. In the meantime the original entrance and part of the steps had been built on, blocking it off,

I know it's been mentioned but Shotton really is rather absurd. It's two stations essentially. The Borderlands line crosses the North Wales coastal and the platforms on the latter line are where you would expect them - next to where the two lines meet. On the Borderlands line though, the platforms are some 200m south of the meeting point. There are plans to move them (in the Wales RUS, I believe) but I don't know how far down the pipeline they are.

The two Wigan stations are only about half that distance apart, for comparision.
