While most wirral line trains go back where they came, there do seem to be a couple of exceptions. Specifically on a Sunday Morning there are two Trains from Rock Ferry to West Kirby via Liverpool (Calling twice at Hamilton Square and Liverpool James St)

Yup.
The track work deviates showing where the island platform was. I remember Trent signalbox there when I was growing up. No idea whether it is still there as I am no longer local.
Was this a proto East Midlands Parkway?
