A slightly silly one from that area: if you board in the wrong direction at Barnes Bridge there are several stations between there and Barnes, if Hounslow rounders are operating.

Yeah they are. The line curves round to come back towards Hampton post Fulwell.

Extremely tenuous, but on the Tyne and Wear Metro you can take a train from North Shields all the way to South Shields across the river, both part of the mythical 'Shields'. (In reality of course they are separate places in their own right)
