I know this is on the road but until 2012ish there was a sign at the A38 M1 Junction in South Normanton saying "Alfreton and Mansfield Parkway".

Stirling Station still has the Caledonian Railway crest at the entrance! And until a few years ago, the words "Caledonian Railway Central Station" were clearly visible on the Central Station bridge over Argyll Street in Glasgow.

Manchester Oxford Road still has a BR flourescent light unit with 'Oxford Road' in Gill Sans all-caps on the light cover.

This one was at Keighley in 1984. I wonder if it's still there?

Above the entrance to Keighley station is a sign that still says "Parcels and Tickets". Also recently spotted at Skipton was a luggage trolley with "Regional Railways North East - Harrogate station" written on it. I wonder if they want it back?

For many years the light fittings at Duddeston still had "Vauxhall" inscribed on them. Not sure if they have been replaced as it's been a while since I've been there.

I think some trains on the Ellesmere Port to Helsby line still display signs saying "this platform to Hooton".

At Deighton, the Huddersfield bound platform still says "This platform for Huddersfield and stations to Manchester Victoria".

Ely station have baggage carts still lettered for Network Southeast, and allocated for Bishop's Stortford with lettering "do not move from Bishops Stortford". Right...

Do trains operate wrong-road frequently there? ;)

They operate in the correct flow of traffic ;)

The double arrow is the current official UK road sign for a railway station ...

I think the subliminal point being made about the one pictured above is that it's back to front, i.e. arranged for RH running, as per post #26...

That could be a trivia thread in its own right: luggage trolleys seen farthest away from home, with bonus points for most complex simplest possible route by which they could have got there, and a triple word score if you actually know how they did it.

As you leave Bowker Vale heading toward Bury on the tram, if you look out to the left as you cross the road bridge there is a BR double arrow station sign.

The Bury line has been part of metrolink since 1992.

I'm sure I once saw a trolley at Wakefield Westgate with "Not to be moved from London Paddington" on it, years ago. The weirdest though wasn't a trolley... A yellow metal trackworker's equipment case with a 'Highland Rail' stag logo on it... At Stocksmoor!

There is a persistent story from the 1980s of a "not to be removed from King's Cross" passenger luggage trolley being found at Kai Tak airport...

Used to be a sign directing you to Harlow Mill Station with the BR double arrow symbol the wrong way round

Of course the 'Double Arrow' facing the other way, was always for the Sealink Ferries :)
